Hi,My platter on my Stanton T.120 will no longer spin when I hit the play/stop button. All of the lights come on,I can spin the platter with my hand manually no problem. I noticed that the spindle feels a bit loose(not entirely noticeable though). For example,if I spin the turntable that works manually with my hand it'll spin and come to a stop quicker than the turntable thats broke.I fear its the motor,I hope not. What could be the problem? It was working fine just the night before with no problems.Thank You.

How to fix a wobbly turntable stanton T.50

Check if the platter is oke and aint stock, and otherwise is you spindle bearing defect.... A platter ain't goes from flat to wobble all of a sudden. And try to get the stuf second hand, or better, buy a better unit, not from stanton, but a refurbished 1200mk from technics is ok, if you sprin records. If you only listen, take a loke at the rega and pro-ject sites.....

Arm not working. Stop/start light flashes red instead of staying solid

Don't try and force anything that won't move. Try this. With the power unplugged, place the tonearm over the record, if it will move freely, while rotating the platter by hand. Move the tonearm slowly over the surface of the platter until the end. Continue turning the platter by hand and see if the tonearm picks up and returns to the rest. See if that fixes your issue. Stanton t.80 Motor produces hum sound when holding the platter to cue. When platter is released the hum disappears. Also is a slight hum on start up. Have opened the turntable and all connections seem to...

Do you keep the platter at one place --> don't you let the platter spin and keep the record at. one place, you are know f.5;5,g your engine and parts.... buy suzuki slipmats and use the plastic rounds of plastic .... i thought by thud rumble too let your table spin when you hold the the platter, otherwise components get to hot

Platter wont spin on stanton t 120, all the lights turn on fine, platter seems to feel jammed, it wont spin easily when i push it by hand.

The belt that drives the platter may have shifter or the gears that turn the platter may be unaligned. Open it up yourself and check out the inside but be careful not to break anything or go into a local music/dj store. they may be able to help you for cheap or for free.

Stanton ST150 turntable won't spin

Hello DeKay,

I just had a spindle lock issue this past Sunday at my gig. I had the turntables out in my car and brought them in. I let then warm up for 2hrs before plugging them in.

Everything was good. Then mid set my right side turntable started spinning really fast and then DEAD STOP.

I was pushing the platter and it really hard to turn. I took off the platter and tried to turn it with my hand. It was dead locked, WTF?!!

So I limped through with one turntables since I use Traktor Scratch Pro and made it through the whole night successfully.

I searched the net and it was suggested to lubricate the 1200 spindle with 15W40 motor oil. Since the motor design is indentical, I picked up some 10W40 motor oil since I couldn't find 15W40.

I oiled both turntables to be on the safe since. I tapped the spindle on the locked turntable to help loosen it.

I drove back home which is pretty much an hour drive and let the tables sit for another 2 hrs.

I decided to grab a thick towel and vice grips to work on the locked spindle.

Clamping down on the towel with the vice grips on the brass fitting for the platter I was able to free the spindle quite easily.

I was then able to turn it by hands so I did in both forward and reverse directions to work the oil down into the spindle bearings.

I put the platter back on and spun it manually to check for resistance, it was spinning nicely!

Plugged in the turntable, set the pitch at 0 and watched the stobe dots. There was no waver in the strobe dots. YAAAAAAAY!

My turntable is back to new and since I only use them on the road they stay stored most of the time.

So I would suggest just oiling the spindles every so often to keep them tip top.

Hope this helps you!

Peace,
DJ Quartz

Belt fell off my stanton turntables, so it will not spin

Ok, so put it back on.

It's very simple, just take the platter off, and out the belt on the bottom. Then put the platter back on, and you'll have to pinch the belt off the platter, and wrap it around the motor shaft.

Belt Loop

Hi, If you take the platter (The Silver Wheel) off you will find that you will have a little tiny motorised wheel, you need to wrap the belt around that little wheel aswell as fitting it aroung the platter. Hope this helps.
