Dear Friend,
Type the wrong password three times and it will ask you for a PUK Code.
Contact your service provider and they will ask you for a PUK code. Enter that in the cell phone and it will unlock the cell phone .Go to the security settings and disable the security.

Most likely your son has put a pin code on his phone. This code is stored in the SIM card and when you power up the phone it asks for a pin code before you can operate the phone.
In some cases when you enter the wrong pin code too many times the SIM card will lock up. You need to contact the phone service provider for assistance to unlock/remove the pin code.

If you enter wrong password for more then 5 times,it ll ask you to enter the puk number....now call your customer care and
get the puk number...enter the puk number in the space given for password....thats it...problem is fixed

I totally forgot my phone lock code i haven't used it in awhile and my son locked the phone while playing with it. is there a code i can enter that's universal?

A subsidy password is an unlock code. Phones are usually locked to the original carrier and a subsidy password must be entered to use a different carriers SIM card. Its safest to obtain this from the original carrier. There are a lot of websites out there that can help you inlock the phone as well. Just be careful. If the wrong unlock code or subsidy password is entered too many times the phone will be locked to the original carrier permanently.
