First, my tractor eats secondary deck belts like candy. It has become worse recently. The dealer told me to make sure the kids did not have the throttle at full while engaging/disengaging the PTO and that seemed to help for a while but this year I can't even get the lawn cut once With out it eating a belt. I also have a 2000 Craftsman 27HP Kohler Hydrostatic 48" deck. Same deck and belts and as the Husky. The electric clutch seems to bog down and the blades slow to the point od barely turning when in even slightly high grass. I never had problems with this tractor with belts before but recently it destroyed (2) I grease the blade pullys and try to keep the deck clear, any ideas?

Looks like your mowers have a little age on them. I recommend that you remove the decks for inspection. I bought one recently that the deck was rusted out in the middle causing it to flex and throw the belt. Check for good alignment all around and make sure that the blade guides around the pulleys are as they should be. If not that will cause them to eat the belt. Make sure everything moves as it should including the blade engagement mechanisms.

I hope this helps you get going.

Hydrostatic want pull hill

Either the belt is slipping in the pulleys ( replace belt ) or the hydro unit has internal wear, if this is the case as the unit gets hotter the issue will become worse due to the oil getting thinner and leaking internally, this would mean a hydro rebuild, or replacement unit

This is the primary belt-not the secondary.

take the deck off , some of these tractors can be hard to work on , but if you have the mower deck off. you have a 100% better chance of self repair

I need a belt diagram for secondary belt on a john deere f525 with a 48 inch deck

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly

By secondary belt I am assuming you need the deck belt routing. Here is a picture of the front deck belt routing: http://opebycrigby.tripod.com/decks/jd/jdf525.jpg

Thanks for choosing FixYa,

Need mowing belt for 54" deck

It appears there are two belts for your mower. The primary belt is JD part M143019 and secondary is M118685. Your traction drive belt is p/n M127523.

The secondary belt for a 54 inch C deck is M154960 the other belts are the same as above.

I have used these folks for replacement belts before.

Belt diagram for craftsman 46" model#917258691 I am replacing the secondary belt

belt routing diagrams are sometimes on the underside of the running board [so when you are laying on your back, you can look up and see it, left side usually]. on a 46 inch deck, it's probable that the diagram is on the rear, center of the deck, you can see it by going behind the tractor, kneeling down and looking forward at the deck

How do I change out the primary belt on a Craftsman 17.5 hp 42" mower? The new belt is around the pulleys but it is very loose.

This belt is easist to install with the deck all the way down. Make sure there are no burrs on any of the pulleys, (will eat up your new belt in short order), also make sure that the 2 drive pulleys for the blades turn freely, (may have grass impacted around them, you may need to remove the 2 guards on top of the deck to clean, (if they do not spin eaisly). Triple check to make sure the belt is properly routed, one mistake and your belt is broken as soon as you engage. With the engine OFF, engage blades to check tension. If the belt is still loose, you likely have it routed incorrectly.

What is the length of the primary mower belt for a Husqvarna GTH2548 lawn tractor

Many of the parts you can just drop the prefix and use the Sears /AYP #
So, look at the hood sticker or in your manual for the Husq#. 532 18 08-08 becomes 180808 which is a common Sears belt for their secondary belt on the newer 48.
OEP shows as a 5/8 X 89"
The primary for these 174368 (Engine to deck)OEP shows 5/8 X 90.
Best to get the oem if you can. Never tried aftermarket on these.
