Weed whacker

I was unable to get that ring off also... I was able to pull plastic side apart far enough to pull motor out and "rewire" it. Even fit back in when I was done... just barely. and was very gentle...

I do not know how to get the ring apart, though.

You will need to check the charger with a multimeter to see if you are getting 12 volts.

It does not turn on even if it was charged for 24

When it charges, does the red light come on on the charger? Some of the CST2000 chargers make bad connections, and they don't actually charge.

Make sure the red light is coming on when you're charging the battery. If the light is coming on and you still can't use the trimmer after charging, you'll need either a new battery or a whole new battery pack (the black handle of the trimmer).

Hope that helps!

How do I attach the machine to the wall charger

If you can't make the charger fit while the battery is attached to the trimmer, you can remove the battery pack (the whole black handle assembly) by pressing in the two orange tabs (one on each side) and sliding the battery pack forward off of the trimmer. Then you can plug the charger in and charge the battery wherever you want. It can be a struggle to remove the battery pack, but it does come off.

Hope that helps.

How long should trimmer run on a charge.

How large is your yard? On a small yard (like a townhouse front & back yard) the trimmer should last long enough to do the yard a couple of times before needing to be recharged, but it depends on the individual yard, how many weeds you have, and whether you keep it running a long time.

If the trimmer charges at all but not for a very long time, it's either the charger or the battery. Check the charger when it's charging to make sure the red light stays on -- if it goes off or blinks, you need a new charger. If the charger light stays on but the battery doesn't hold a charge, you need a new battery.

Hope that helps!

How to put together the CST2000 and install a battery

Which part of the Grass Hog did you take apart? If you mean the spool head, that is easy to reassemble. The actual spool (the round part with the line coming out) goes into the cavity on the bottom of the trimmer, with the line poking out of the hole in the side several inches (not enough to hit the plastic guard). Then the cover (orange with the spring on it) fits on top of the spool so that the spring pushes on the spool and the two tabs on the side snap into the holes in the trimmer.

Unless you took another part off, that should be all you need to do to reassemble the Grass Hog. Turn it right-side up and turn it on to make sure everything works.

Have a cst2000 but do not have the charger

The charger for the CST2000 is part #243248-00, but it is obsolete now. You could maybe find a used one for sale on eBay or craigslist, though.

Good luck!

;How do you lengthen the string? (Have the grass

To lengthen the string:

- Turn the Grass Hog upside down
- Push in on the two release buttons on either side of the spool (they're orange)
- Pull the spool head off and spin it to release more string while you pull the string with your hand (make sure it is still fed out through the hole in the base)
- Pop the spool head back into place

Test the Grass Hog to make sure the string is not too long. If it is you'll hear it cracking against the plastic guard on the base.

if your refering to the batt handle then its a obsolete item with no replacement part number. your part # is 243215-00 and your best bet is to sell it or put lots of ducktape or epoxy or keep checking ebay
