CHECK FOR RECALL IGNITION SWITCH/REPLACE IGNITION SWITCH

Before throwing more and more parts at the problem, first thing to check is fuel pressure, if it's OK, then that isn't the problem. It could be------a plugged catalytic converter, a failing ignition coil, bad plugs, distributor cap, ignition rotor, cracked/defective dist. cap, ignition module. The list can go on and on. Start with the basics. When was the last time a major tune up was performed? Smog check? We can minimize costs by figuring out the real problem first. If you are adamant about the pump, it's in the gas tank and you will need to drop it out of the truck to change it. Good luck

maybe rubber hose fron pump to unip pipe got corroded or sweeled up soo much wont hold presssure.

Of course, it's free country (unless you are in North Korea). Where would you like to use it? On an oil furnace, a weed wacker perhaps?

Depends on what kind and year of car

fuel pump relay

Is there a pressure regulator on the fuel rail? Is the fuel pressure correct and is the volume of fuel correct?

unrelated. po442 check your gas cap, replace with oem, clear code and run it for a few days.

use a pressure gauge to check pressure at the rail. Change fuel filter. Replace fuel pump if needed.

check the fuel pump relay

-First check fuse and relay. If all are good then test continuity at pump connector for open. If not continuity then the pump is bad. replace new one. Good luck Mai Lor

I would drive it to the junkyard and buy a newer truck. Easiest fuel pump change ever. 1993 is an old tool.

line got clogged again? Check to see if it, the engine, is getting fuel . Go backwards for engine and see if fuel is gettign to fuel fiter, etc.

In the gas tank

This sounds like vapor lock to me, especially if you've had any exhaust work done since then. The key with vapor lock is temp of course, FPs will go out hot or cold. Check the fuel lines for points near high heat.

5-8psi, assuming it is still running a carb.
