Hi, this could be a problem with the power supply in the tv, it is common especially on some Samsungs and specific repair kits are available quite cheaply if you have good soldering skills, this can also apply to many other Flat Screen TV's .

Usually this is caused by capacitors that have dried up and split, you can normally tell as the capacitors are bulging on the pcb, you can get them in a kit as I said eBayer's sometimes do them or you can buy them indivually from a good electronics components supplier, make sure you get the correct values for each!! marked on the side of the capacitors in xx/x V, xxx/x uF and 105oC. (the x's represent numbers)

The picture below shows the type of theing that happens, the brown ones are bulging/split on the top whereas the black one is fine.



High Voltages can exist in these sets, never attempt anything while plugged in and
if in doubt do not attempt it yourself and seek the advice of a qualified TV Technician.

There could also be dry solder joints on the panel, usually applies to the power supply as it's mainly these get the hottest.

It's also worth considering claiming under the warranty for replacement or repair through you dealer if warranty is valid.

Here are some solution that may help you fixing the problem. You might need a help from guys that can perform steps below.

I'm assuming that your outlet is live.1.Power cord - check the cord it might be opened (no continuity).This is due to frequent bending,pulling. 2. Power switch - check for dry joints, open contact. 3.Check the internal fuse- sometimes the fuse fail because of the power surge, replacing with new one will cure the problem, If this is the case I've advice you to use surge protector/AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulator). However if the fuse blew again this is an indication that you have a shorted parts on the power supply, you may visit the link http://www.fixya.com/support/r8053361-fuse_keeps_blowing for more info. If no reaction and still the unit didn't power up then you have an open parts on the power supply.

4.If you see that the fuse is intact on the board, don't attempt to touch anything because there somefatal components stored electricity enough to hurt you with a simple mistake only.

The next steps should be done by an expert or qualified technician because isolating the problem on the power supply is quite technical.

Also check if your unit is under warranty before opening the back panel, it will void the warranty. Avail it because the manufacturer of your unit will fix it for free or a little charge only.

Sounds like a power surge at your house has blown the tv.
Call out engineer and bill the electricity company. (maybe best to call them first though)

REPLACE THE Z-SUS BOARD LG 50PG20 ZSUS BOARD EBR38374502

The trick is to try and melt the solder holding both leads at the same time by quickly switching the soldering iron back and forth from one to the other and a bit of wiggling the capacitor from the top.

There is often also some glue holding the top side of the capacitor steady so just peel what you can right off and pull hard enough to break the remaining glue's grip once the solder joint is loose.

Hello there!!!!! If your remote is giving you troubles, you can try a power scan, which scans through each code for the tv until you reach the correct one. Just follow the link provided below, and begin the scan. Remember when you are done programming your remote, press the SAT button on the top left of the remote. Hope this helps!!!

Popping or clicking, you should see some problems on your power supply. Bulging capacitors, also you tube has video on what to look for, you can search for Polaroid tv repair

It is an indication of a leaky electrolytic capacitor on the power supply section.
Leaky electrolytic capacitor will affect the performance of the supply once sense by the processor it will automatically shuts down the unit. The symptom will get worst if did not replaced the defective capacitor. Its quite technical and not diy so I've advice you to look for a qualified technician to isolate the problem.

But before that don't forget to check the warranty of your unit. Avail it if it is still under warranty, the manufacturer/authorized service center will fix it for you for free or a little charged only.

The tv power supply board is the causes and the problems.That the board,where the power a/c cord plug into it.Try website like Ebay.com to buy a refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

Colour temperature. The higher the K number the more blue and brighter the glare. The lower the K number the softer the light and more pink in the colour. The light colour can be explained by use of a strip lamp, (flourescent lamp).
The warm white strip lamp used in offices have a temperature of 2500K. The new type "energy saving" lamps have a temperature of 2800K and are whiter and have more of the blue spectrum in them.

There are at least 3 boards you need to check for fuses, caps, blown parts.
They are; power supply module, Z sustain board, and Y sustain board.

We have the same issue. Did you get a response from anyone?

The power supply has obviously failed. An Authorized LG agent will advise on repair cost. If it is just the Power Supply it may be not too bad but un authorized technicians do tend to hike the prices up to cover the lack of experience.
Write a nice letter to LG, they may well listen. It's worth a try depending on where your location is. Lean on the age of the set and that you are very dissapointed that such a good named product should have failed so soon.

It can be bad power supply module due to bad caps,
Bad Z sustain and Y sustain boards.
You need to check those 3 boards for bad caps, blown fuses, etc.

is there is any power indication on ur tv. if not, its power supply may be faulty. if so u should contact the manufacturer for repair the same.

I had a similar problem with my 42 in Philips LCD HDTV.

Here was the problem. My Power Supply Board had several bad capacitors. I opened my TV (warranty was expired of course) and found four bulged capacitors. Many electronics companies were sold capacitors that failed in 2-5 years instead of 10-20. The capacitors fail prematurely due to a lack of preservatives. Unfortunately, they were installed in all sorts of devices and cause a wide range of failure problems.

Here are some options for you.

1. Have it fixed by a professional

2. Open your TV and find PSB. Check for faulty caps. If you find some (bulged or leaking) bad caps replace the entire board.

3. Remove and then replace individual faulty caps. This takes some soldering skill.

Caps are inexpensive and if you can take care of it yourself it will save you hundreds.

I have a tip/tutorial on this site that may also help. It gives step by step instructions for replacing caps on PSB #715t2432-2. If this is your board you are in luck. It's called: Fixing the Philips Turns/shuts off on its own problem.

I am sorry to say that it does not have a left /right analog audio output. It only has a digital optical output on it. Unless your receiver has a optical input, you cannot use your set's audio out. If you are using a cable box or satellite receiver, you can their left /right output for you audio signal.
