I have a pre-Xantrex Heart
Find the dip switches inside the remote and switch the #1 switch on for one second then back off. Your panel should blink for 8 hours. Equalizing is not required for gel cell. If your battery array falls below 8 vt the system shuts off. Remove the 12 vt load (turn every thing off) during this procedure as higher than normal voltage is applied to the batteries. Also they will be giving off more than normal hydrogen gas during this process.
I have up-loaded the manual for these and will be posted in about 24 hrs.

AC power throwing out,
DC
Hi.
The oscillator section of the inverter is probably gone. That will result in the AC waves going out of phase and in the AC power not giving output or stopping after a while. The AC section of an inverter can be tested using an oscilloscope. Here
a lot of theory on inverter testing. In practice you connect the oscilloscope to the inverter to draw the waveform of the AC signal (refer to oscilloscope's instruction). If the oscillators (or the IC) are defective you will see the the waveform change before the inverter is failing.

Yes it should be able to operate the average household fridge but how long it will operate for will be dependant on the Ah rating of the battery.
Page 11 of the PDF Manual at the link below shows a table for Typical Power Consumption of various items and how long they can operate with various Ah batteries.
The figures shown are based on a 12V system so if you've got yours wired as a 24V system then generally you should be able to double these times.
http://www.xantrex.com/documents/Discontinued-Products/Freedom_combie_Owner_manual.pdf
If you can confirm you've got the batteries wired as a 24V system, the Ah rating of your batteries and the wattage rating of your fridge I'll be able to confirm a more accurate operating time.

All the transferred power has
This means the component inside the unit which is saddled with the distribution of power has failed. Due to the failure it is not passing power round as it is supposed to. This could have been caused likely by a power surge into the unit or improper connection inside the unit.
Usually these systems are made such that when these things happen only a little fuse gets spoilt such that the other main components dont get spoilt so all you have to do is locate that particular fuse which is burnt.
If you dont have the technical expertise it is best to refer to an expert to open up the unit and get the fuse replaced. And also sort out the faulty wires in the case of bypassing or bridging wires in the case of an improper connection.
Hope this solution has been helpful?

I would like to change
That is possible and it involves the proper connection of wires and also increasing its strands. If you use higher grade of AWG wires, it can hold additional 5-10 amps of current (ex. black AWG wire with 8 strands instead of 4). Just inquire a thicker wire so that the power sharing would be possible..

Yes, *if* you can find an exact replacement and get someone to sell it to you. In order to protect their propriety designs, Xantrex only provides OEM replacement parts to its factory authorized service network, but you might find one of them locally who would be willing to sell you the part, especially if the unit is on a boat (a Marine Freedom 25?), and can't be brought to them.
