That's strange, even in Sleep Mode, you should still be receiving calls and messages. Here's what you can do. Try doing a soft reset on the phone. Use a stylus or any pointed object or paperclip to press the RESET button found at the bottom center part of your device. Your device restarts and displays the Today screen. If the soft reset did not work, then you can try a hard reset. But be warned as your phone will be set back to factory default settings and all saved data will be lost. To perform a hard reset, you can go to page 128 of this manual since you need to see proper illustration:

IF this link doesn't take you directly there ... go to the link you gave me, select support, select downloads, go to near the bottom of the page to find your model numbe (which I found and you too, may have seen), select it and you will be at the place where I got the link I sent. Now, you are going to have to look around for the software you require. Were this me, I'd get what ever they offer and try it. What the heck, it don't work now, you will not likely make it any worse.

I'm sorry you find yourself in this situation. For myself, I'm very wairy about purchasing unknown electronics (stuff that I havn't proven good). Most for sale are for sale for good reason. Buyer beware.

The next challenge I see that you will have to overcome is just how you will get the information onto your telephone. Does it come with a USB or other cable you can attach the phone with your computer?

My friend, this is unplowed ground for me, though an interesting field, so to say. I would be interested in learning more if you would share upon your successful reinstallation. You could post a comment to this question and I would get the info.

you can call your which ever network you have and tell them you want a list of txt msgs from that cell phone and they will give you a list of that months txts that id the only place they are they dont see them inless you tell them to look them up

all u have to do is hold down the two set buttons and take a small pin and press the little hole on the bottom of ur phone and the phone will help u with the rest if u have any questions just email me at [email protected]

Beginning with the start menu, go to settings, then sounds & notifications. From the drop down list, go to outgoing message and click the "play sound" box (to empty). That should stop the ringing and vibration.

I expect you have tried removing the battery, re-installing and starting up again. If that didn't work, contact Audiovox technical support - they can walk you through a "Hard reset". Be aware - you must use a sync system to save your contacts, calendar, etc. It will be wiped out with the hard reset. My phone did much the same thing and the reset solved it. Afterwards, I was able to retrieve my data from the sync (I used Microsoft Activsync- downloaded free from their website).

"Ringback" generally refers to the music people hear when they call your phone. You have to set that up thru Verizon (or other carrier).

If you're talking about ring tones (what YOU hear when the phone rings) that's easy. Look for a folder called "Rings" inside the Windows folder on your phone. If you put an audio file (wav, mp3, etc) in that folder, it will become available as a ring tone.

You need to install A Java VM midelet handler. I got mine from the IBM website, but I just checked and they have a new version that they are not allowing the general public to download.

BUT! I found the following link. You'll have to register to access the download. After you register, scroll to the bottom of the page to find the download. The install is a bit quirky if I remember -- but it looked like there was some help on the page as well. If this doesn't work out, Google "IBM midp20 download" or java midp20 download" ... it's out there, along with several good help pages. Here's the link I found -- good luck:

I realize that this question is over three years old, so, this may no longer be an issue. Free talk minutes would be based upon the terms agreed upon when signing Verizon Wireless's paperwork. Nowadays, most plans associated with smartphones contain unlimited talk & text with either a preset amount of data or unlimited data with the stipulation that if you go over a certain threshold before the end of the current billing cycle, data speeds could be greatly reduced until the start of the next billing cycle.

You probably cannot. Most phones need to be unlocked, which is a whole different can of worms. And probably this one will not work in the 4G mode with another carrier.
