Toshiba netbook won't recognize LG GP08

If the drive is not self powered, it might not work because the USB port on the computer maybe does not have enough power to run the drive. Also, if the drive is USB 3.0, and the USB port on the computer is USB 2.0, it probably will not work. Good luck.

Not able to view dvd

I am gonna assume that you mean a DVD movie here and it maybe that you do not have the codecs installed you'll need to download and install K-Lite Codec Pack. Make sure you uncheck the box to install Media Player Classic

When connected to the computer, make sure the drivers have been installed. Usually, this will occur soon as the unit is plugged in. If you are using USB to do this, and you plug it in to one port, and nothing happens, or the unit is unrepsonsive; try using a different USB port, or try using a different applicable cord, compatible with both the unit, and the computer. If this doesn't work, depending on how long ago you purchased the unit (brand new?) then I suggest taking it back to the place of purchase and seeing if you can either trade it, or find out if someone can further instruct you of it's installation process.
Please let me know if you need further assistance.

My MacBook doesn't recognize

if your computer came with a motherboard disc the drivers could be on it click start control panel administrive tools ,computer management ,device manager look through all of your devices if you see a yellow question mark?or exclamation mark ! or red x right click to reinstall drivers or if you can see your usb but its not working ports(com&lpt)right click update driver just replace the cable of the hard disk, when you plugged the external disk drive you got that windows could recognize the USB device change the cable everything should work fine again, sometimes the wires inside the cable will be damaged due to bending or stretching or placing heavy equipment upon the cable, check the USB leads that attach to the motherboard usually red-white-green-black make sure they are securely seated and have no dust build up on them dust will cause static and a lot of unforeseen problems hope this helps

I need the GP08LU10 XP driver

USB optical drives never require a driver when used in Windows XP. This device is 100% Plug 'n Play in Windows XP providing it's a good drive and plugged into a working USB port. The OS will detect and install a USB drive automatically without user intervention within 4-7 seconds normally. When it does so, you will get notification that the install was successful and that the drive is now ready to use.

If it has never been prepped, ie: partitioned and formatted, then that task will need to be performed using drive prep software usually provided by the vendor/manufacturer or by using the built-in partitioning and formatting feature that Microsoft included with the OS.

I need LG GP08LU10 Driver for Mac please...

Unfortunately, LG does not offer drivers for their products for the Mac platform. You can use a program like Parallels to run Windows as a virtual computer on your Mac and install this optical drive under Windows.

I wish that I could be of more help.

How difficult is it to replace a CD-ROM drive in a MacBook Pro?

The fact that you realized replacement might be the best option and sought out advice tells me you are intelligent by nature. On a difficulty scale of 1-10 I would rate this in the 6-7 range. Someone like you would probably have very little trouble with this project. I have sent countless step by step instructions over the internet & through email but it seems like the best results always come from an in-depth tutorial, This way you can see EVERY step and even rewind if you're not sure about something. Powerbookmedic.com has a wonderful tutorial on the 17" MacBook Pro breakdown and optical drive (cd/dvd) removal. Just remember to always start with taking the battery out and be very careful about electrostatic shock. You should be fine on a hard surface but I don't recommend fabric/carpet surfaces once you open it up. Here is the link for your laptop. The videos will play in succession automatically. Good luck, you'll do just fine! If you run into trouble, just message back and I will be glad to walk you through it: http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/macbook_pro/stats/macbook_pro_2.16_17.html

My cd is broken inside my lG cd rom what should

Hi

Thank you for your query

If you look at the side of the CD rom drive i.e. where the button is that you push to open and close the CD drive there will be a very small hole. If you open up a paper clip and poke the end into that hole you will notice the drive will pop out, once the drive has come out all you need to do is open and remove the broken CD

If this has been useful please leave positive feedback/vote/testimonial as this will help me greatly - Thank you again

It can't read or burn any data on any empty disks

Some CD burners are either "+" or "-" or both "+ -".

That said you will have to check what type of burner you have. Example, you cannot stick a "+" blank cd into a "-" burner, and visa versa.

However, if your cd burner can read and burn both types, you should be okay.
