The sidekick from T-mobile is unlock-able with IMEI or MEP unlock code, I run a mobile shop and recently unlocked 5 of these sidekicks this month. You can get your code online, its very easy and takes couple of seconds to enter the unlock code and have your phone free from restriction. Not to mention once unlocked you can use it ATT or any other GSM network. You can get your code from here.

You need to replace the microphone on your phone. You can find them on ebay
for around $10 and do it yourself. Or most cell stores will charge $30-$40 on average.

HOW TO DO A MASTER RESET ON A SIDEKICK 3 NOTE: Performing this will restore your device back to factory defaults, meaning you'll loose everything on your sidekick!
1. Remove the battery and the SIM card from the device. 2. Flip the sidekick open; press and hold the letter 'r' on the keypad. 3. While holding the letter 'r', place the battery back in the device. DO NOT INSERT THE SIM CARD YET. 4. The sidekick will restart itself twice. Please make sure not to let the letter 'r' go until it has fully rebooted. 5. Once it has fully rebooted, remove the battery, re-insert the SIM card and battery and power up the device. 6. Once the device has fully rebooted, all prior information should be erased from the device and it should be restored back to the default factory settings.

Hello,the truth is that you can unlock the phone ,but you can't unlock all phone for free.The payment sites are very cheap you could try it out and see.You can the link below to unlock .
Note: unlock is not free, You will be charged to get your unlock code.
The only way by which you can get the unlock code for free is by calling your service provider and requesting for your unlock code.
If you service provider refuses to give it to you, then there is no other place where you can get a free unlock code.

The same thing happened to me today. I tried removing and replacing the battery and SIM card, then waited a few minutes and tried again. After this didn't work, I called T-Mobile and the lady, Shawn, told me to check the small box to the left of the SIM card. If it's red, you have water damage, and you need to order a replacement. But your Sidekick does have a warranty, just make sure to call them and order a [free] replacement before your warranty expires. Glad I could be of help. :)

I tried playing music on my music player off my memory card and its saying microSD does not contain supported music files? How do i fix it?

Lets just assume you have already called T-mobile to set everything up.
You now have to wait at least 48 hrs for your welcome screen to pop up and be able to set up your Internet. ( that's what it says )
However
It shouldn't take that long
I purchased mine yesterday, had the sales rep call customer care and set everything up for me
he told me to wait at least 24 hrs for my Welcome screen to come up
but withing like 2 hrs I got my WS and was up and running in no time.

I would suggest getting out of the Waiting for Activation screen by pressing the button on the Top Left hand corner and the letter L at the same time
this will allow you to at least Text and make Calls.
Try accessing the Internet here and there and that might speed up the process.
That's what I did........

If 24 hrs go by and you still have nothing
then I would call in.

Hi, It seems the sim card you are trying to use has a pin code and sim card pin code are usually any amount of digits you want to use for it. You can check if it's a new Simcard then on the pack of the Sim card you will see a pin 'on the pack. But if it's not anew Sim card,that means you will need to contact the Sim service provider for help to assist you by tell you what pin code to use.

# Insert your memory card into your computer's reader if you have one. If not, you can purchase a multi-format USB Memory Card reader from Amazon.com or Buy.com
# 2 Open up 'My Computer'. You should see it under the list of available drives.
# 3 Check its contents first to make sure that you have the right drive.
# 4 In 'My Computer', right-click on the drive and choose 'Format'.

Because the one you must of brought probaly had like a lock on it or probaly the person you got it from stole it right and now the person who orignally had it has shut the phone off but not completely so thats why maybe you should get your money back and get one from the T-Mobile store like me
mine works great =D i love my 3 and also i recently Brought A 2008 so maybe you try that one it has better features any way
