Set-up (Programming) procedure is too much to type in here, and is not practical and it will differ brand-to-brand remote controls. If you wish to get more; check the sites linked here. The site has set-up code list & set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. The site has general set-up codes to check with TVs and other devices are given, in the order of the 'device's brand name list' in alphabetical order. Set-up code list to many brand remote controls also is given. Pull up older posts. Search the sites by type in the brand name to your device in its search box at the top right part of the display window. It will help you to find the document easily.

Programming Notes
• If your device does not respond to the remote after trying all codes listed or your brand is not listed in the code list, use the Auto Code Search method to program your remote.
• Sometimes the first code that "works" with your device may operate only a few functions of your device. There may be another code in the code list that performs more functions. Try other codes from the code list for more functionality.
This is a trial and error procedure; and quiet time consuming. You might have to check different codes said for your device.

You probably just need to select the input from the TV setup or the remote. Most have multiple selections such as "antenna" "cable" "HDMI" or AUX... flip through them until you find the one that works. Good luck.

It could be that the laser is going faulty, or there is dirt/dust on the lense, or that the carriage carrying the laser is loose and not tracking correctly. You will need to open the DVD player and look at the laser unit to see if anything can be cleaned or adjusted.

Does the audio output support surround sound.
It should support Surround Sound as the standard has been around for quite a few years now.
Dolby digital and DTS should be supported.
If yours is working, your doing well. I've read the reviews and consider you fortunate that yours works.
The interesting thing about solid state electronics, is that if it works for about 90 days it will probably work for quite a few years after. So you are lucky people,

Hi, the problems here can be caused by a couple of things. Assuming you have tried playing a couple of DVD's back to back, it sounds like there is runout on the disc (wobble) which is preventing the pickup from tracking the outer edge of the disc.
it sounds like there may be a particle stuck to the spindle table(the round table that the disc sits upon). You may need to remove the disc clamp to gain access to it - just run your finger lightly around the top edge of it to clear it - don't be tempted to touch or look into the laser pickup - you can be permanently blinded.

Hi,
This sounds like you need to set the regional settings on the DVD player.
Most DVD players have regional settings on them which are NTFC, PAL and also Multiregion.
These settings will be in the On-screen-menu in one of the settings. If you switch between these settings you should bring back the colour to the picture as well as the sound.
Having a tinker with the settings usually sorts out the problems. Other causes are bad or badly seated leads. A good idea will be to check the leads are well connected and are in the correct positions.
Please post back if there is anything else.
I lost my manual for my Protron DVD player and I
