Soapy water won't drain out

Many times soap can get inside the DW from the sink. This is bad news. The pump doesn't like it. You may have to run several empty cycles to get rid of the SUDS. If that doesn't work Look for other problems. Is their debris in air gap or in the bottom of the DW, where the drain is screened? 1. The air gap is usually located on top of the sink. Lift off the pretty cover, and unscrew the top cap nut. Is there rice and debris there? Remove it then. Reassemble and check it out. 2. The DW drains to the bottom of the unit where the pump is. This area is screened off so that the pump doesn't get clogging debris in it. is their leaf lettuce and stuff covering this? Remove that debris. Some times this area can only be accessed by removing the bottom spinning spray head. It comes off with a nut, possibly this nut is reverse thread. Reassemble when done looking for debris. 3. Is the drain line between the DW pump (located under the DW) and the waste pipe kinked? This line is a plastic corrugated line about 7/8" around the outside. It is a pumped waste and won't work if it is kinked, so unkink it. 4. Is the float stuck. This is a device on the bottom of your DW that tells the DW how much water is in the bottom of the DW basin. It looks like a mushroom. Gently move it up and down. Does it move freely or is it stuck? Unstick it. Good luck.

I have a Kenmore dishwasher in black. Can you

yes it is! Appliance Art has stainless panels if you have the type of dishwasher that lets you slide out old panel and insert new one. For the other types of dishwasher they sell stainless "rolls" that are applied over your current black. They were just on DIY network and HGTV. www.applianceart.com

Kenmore Elite

Hmm, I'll start at the top :->. Well, first thing is that Kenmore doesn't manufacture any appliances. The only thing Sears has is the name recognition, therefore, they have GE, LG, Whirlpool, and others to make appliances for them and Kenmore slaps on their label. On with the problems though :-> 1. Door is grungy looking. Make sure your air-gap ( if you have one) is clear and not clogged. If you don't have one, make sure the drain hose is mounted to the underside of the counter, under the sink. This will prevent Gookus from backfilling into your dw. 2. There are 3 main things to check when repairing dw - Circulation, Heat, and Drainage. There's not much else. Here are some tips to address each one. a) Make sure all spray arms are turning. Put in one position, close door, run, open, and verifiy they moved. If not, clean holes in spray arms, or, remove filter and clean around impeller or chopper. I find clogs all the time. b) Heat. Make sure you are running your hot water in the sink until max hot water is reached. This is very important and should be listed in the users manual. Most dw's run several cycles before the heater element is energized. Water must be 120F when entering dw. c) Hard Water buildup. Use Lemon Shine, available from Walmart. This will clean the dw and prevent buildup on dishes. d) drainage. Addressed above. I've seen countless times where food and other gookus goes right down garbage disposal and into the dw drain line, where it recirculates on to dishes. Make sure air-gap is clear or that hose is secured to underside of countertop. e) Make sure the element is working. Once easy way to check is to verify dishes are dry at the end of the cycle. If not, call a service tech and get fixed. I've found black mold (splatter) on inside of dishwasher due to heater element bad. Hope this help!

Kenmore Elite dishwasher will not dissolve soap or wash well.

Temperature should be 140F. and the units heater should energize during fill to achieve this.
