Fix Dew Detect for Panasonic 700X

Dew has condensed in the camera. Eject the cassette but leave the cassette door open.remove the battery . Borrow a hair drier . set it to optimum temperature(not vey hot but but hot enough to cause discomfort when blown on fingers). direct the hot air through the cassette compartment door for about five minutes. reattach the battery and reinsert the tape.
Good Luck,

Dew detected show on lcd

Hi,
The camera is telling you that there is moisture inside the unit, place the camera in a warm dry space for 24 - 48 hours to dry out, it should be fine after that.

Stuck tape in camcorder

I had a similar problem with an older panasonic camera. Mybe you have tried this, but opening the door and pushing up on the tape. Push in and use enough force but don't try to break it. Try pressing different spots. Sooner or later the motor might start moving it up. Just a though, it worked for me.

Firewire port damaged from cord ****. What can I do?

You have very limited options here: 1. Repair it yourself - If you don't have soldering skills, do not attempt this. 2. Send it into Panasonic - http://www2.panasonic.com/consumer-electronics/support/Cameras-Camcorders/Camcorders/MiniDV-Camcorders/Warranty-CCP/model.PV-GS300.W#ts
That site has all the warranty information and a number to call in order to get everything in motion.
3. Take it to your local electronics store - Although this is a dying breed, there are still stores all around the US that service electronics. Look in your yellow pages for the nearest repair store.

Playback has horiontal blue lines through images

You need to throw away the camera. this solution will save you heartache and time. OR you could spend 300$ on getting it fixed. ITS CALLED a HEADCLEAN. only panasonic will clean the heads but that'll be pricey. i would just invest in a worthy camcorder like the dvx!

Error message "push the reset switch"

Pull the battery out to reset it. Get a DV tape cleaner to clean out the tape deck.

That should solve both.

IEEE1394 Fire wire stopped working

I'm supposing here that you're using a Macintosh computer, because the firewire port is only supposed to work with a PV-GS320 when the camera's downloading into a Macintosh computer. (For computers operating under Windows it's supposed to download through the USB port instead.) And:   I'm writing you because I'm having exactly the same problem that you described!
The first 2 movies I took downloaded from the camera VERY easily, but the 3rd one refuses to download at all (the computer doesn't recognize that there's anything to download). I also tried the camera on another computer and the problem was exactly on my own computer even though the updated levels of the operating system and of the iMovie software in the computer were slightly different.
I've asked Fixya for help on 17 May 2008, and never have received any response at all (despite having paid in advance for “Premium” technical support); so Ive given up on them and am working the problem elsewise.
My e-mail address is [email protected] and my phone number is (310)374-6133. Please contact me and maybe we can help each other.

Physical Memory Dump

I would really think about the firewire port. Maybe a different card or updated drivers. Are you getting any messages in the event viewer? Also make sure that XP is up to date.

Anyway maybe you should just be happy that your firewire port works, there are many on here that are not that lucky...
