I could repair the xbox for you or possibly replace any damaged parts mostly the hardrive. I wouldnt charge or anything since the console is old the means to repair are simple yet i would need the xbox here as its hard to give you the means to do so!

I'm not sure if you can get them at retail stores, but they are available on Ebay. Don't get the ones that state theya re for xbox live gold membership.
You can also get the xbox live starter pack which includes 3 months xbox live and a headset (that is if you can still find them, again ebay is a great starting place)

How is there red rings on the Xbox?

If your xbox is overheating clean the fans out on the back of the casing

This could indicate a problem with the Game Disc or with the console. or try these... you need to purchase a lazer disc cleaner it looks and works just like a normal dvd disc but it has brushes on it that when put through the player brushes the dust of the laser lens this needs to be done on a regular bases to keep your lazer working to its optimum level and hense fixing your problem.

Press Y on the HD symbol and then press X,X,Left Bumper, Right Bumper, X,X. Once you do this a messsage will appear saying: Do you want to perform maintenance on your Xbox 360 storage devices?

Performing this function will also clear any software updates.

NO the hardware is not suited to it NOR will the software be able to talk to the equipment even the 360 playing old xbox games is software controlled or emulated

Just to clarify with you which system you have the XBOX or the XBOX 360. Depending on what system you have will determine what you will need to do. Also do you have access to XBOX Live with the system as well.

This is not a huge problem as I have fixed many xbox 360 with this issue. First of all if you have warranty let Microsoft fix it.

- Your other choice is to open the xbox and remove the dvd rom (see youtube on how to). You can try cleaning the lens with some rubbing alcohol or replace the lens (usually you can get this from another broken xbox dvd rom, try Ebay).

- Sometimes the lens is stuck at the back of the track: you will be able to see this once you open the dvd rom. If this is the case, you simply move the lens up and down the track a few times. If you see any dirt/dust/hair - remove it using compressed air or a paintbrush.

I want to just make it clear to you, that you can repair the following problems at home with a good repair guide. There is no technical knowledge needed you simply do what you see on the step by step videos or the paper guide.

The best thing is you get to keep your guide for life so if something goes wrong in the future you can just review your guide and fix it.

You need to have a memory card or hard drive attached to install an update.

IS it giving you an error message?

If the 360 is shutting itself off, then this has nothing to do with the game, and you have some form of power supply problem. Try a different game. If it still does it, you most likely need a new power adapter. If you are getting an error message (unplayable disc/dirty or damaged disc) Then the most likely cause is your optical lens in the DVD drive is dying.

xbox 360 and you mean the power brick is flashing yellow that means its broken you can try it with another xbox or buy a new one but first thy it in another outlet if you fix it by your self its hard to open its glued together and the problem can be many diffrent things

1. Go to the "system" blade
2. Select "memory"
3. Press Y on the HD symbol
4. Press X,X, Left Bumper, Right Bumper, X,X
5. A message will appear saying: "Do you want to perform maintenance on your Xbox 360 storage devices?"
6. Select Yes

Clear Any Failed system updates that cause the console to error.

1. With the console off, press and hold the sync up button (the small white one)
2. While holding the sync button press the power button to turn on the console
3. Continue to hold the sync button until the Console has booted up completely.
4. During the boot process the console should clear any failed updates, allowing you to use it normally.
