Marantz PM-15S1 2-Channel Amplifier Questions & Answers
Mute light flashing
Is the amp otherwise functional? If not- check to make sure the speakers are hooked up and not shorted. If it is functional and on AM or FM mode, it may just be the station signal is not adequately centered so part of the carrier is not being detected by the PLL and the between station muting is kicking in.
Can i connet my marantz ki17 amp to a power amp
Hi, i don't really understand why you want to connect an amplifier to an amplifer.
Might be that you want to get a louder volume or ?don't know.
I don't think there is any need for you too connect marantz ki17 amp to a power am. Both do the same work, but might have different watts.
So you will need to check what you want to connect with the amplifier first and check the watts that can carry it without interference from the amplifier.
I guess that would do the magic.
Have a nice day.
Marantz pm 15 s1 amplifier and marantz sa15 s1 Cd player
There really is no point in connecting the two components with an optical (=digital) cable, if you didn't want to use the SA-15s DAC- and analog output section you might aswell have bo bought the chiepest one you could find...
To get better sound than the SA-15s analog outputs can provide, you would have to spend a load of money (not as much as for the SA-15 but quite a bit) on a DAC - and the DAC would only work with CDs, you would still have to use the SA-15s analog outputs to listen to SACDs.
So in conclusion:
-Use the SA-15s analog outputs
-If you have other digital sources that you want to use - if you care about their sound quality - you can sell/return the SA-15s, buy the chiepest CD-Player you find (only look and feel matter) and spend the rest on a good DAC. (note: SACDs won't play on this setup)
I'm using a PM-15S1 with a DAC (Apogee Mini DAC, Studio-Equipment, nominal price ~1000$, got mine 2nd hand for 400€ ) myself. A DAC is usually the better choice over an expensive CD-Player - especially if you've got other digital sources (PC, ...) - but you'll probably lose a lot of money if you sell the SA-15, so think about it (IF you're still thinking about it, I realise that your question is 8 months old...)
anyway... have fun with the PM-15, it sure is beauty

Hi,
Maybe your speakers are out of phase.
That means that one speaker is connected the wrong way.
Please check the connections, í think you've changed the + and - at one speaker.

The fuse keeps blowing in my marantz pm-57
Goo day sir, the T on the fuse has nothing to do on you marantz fuse blowing up, chances are you amplifier is shorted, check you IC amplifier/power transistor for shorts. Check also your speaker impedance. usually they are 8 ohms. You can use a technician's multitester device to check the impeadance. An imbalance or mismatch speaker can cause a fuse to blow and destroy your amplifier. hope this helps.
Sound from left channel is small and distorted.
The distortion might be caused by a resistor. The loss of volume could be the capacitors, but you could try injecting signals into the transistors to see if any has gone. They can cause the distortion and loss of signal. If you apply a soldering iron to any part it will heat up quicker, or you could also use a hairdryer for the whole thing. You can also get a freeze spray that cools things that have heat sensitive faults (available from electronic parts shops).
Marantz CD5004 tray keeps opening problem
CD/DVD players use a protocol;
Open tray. Insert disk. Tray switch tells mechacon that the tray is shut. Attempt to focus on disk.
If focus is acheived, then it will spin up and try to read the disk otherwise it will ask for a readable disk.
If the tray keeps opening, I would suspect the tray detect switch is malfunctioning, maybe the drive belt has stretched.
HI, would you know what error code CY920 on my Marantz NR1607 means ?
The Marantz NR1607 is an AV Receiver, and the CY920 error code is not a recognized error code for this product. It's possible that this is a custom or specific error code for your device, and I would recommend contacting Marantz support or the manufacturer for more information. They may be able to provide you with a solution or more information on what the error code specifically means and how to resolve it.
The poweramp of my Marantz SR6004 AV Surrount Receiver only turns on after about 3 minutes.
Marantz DV 9500 DOES NOT PLAY ANY of normal CDs. Reads ONLY Super Audio CDs. What could be the cause for this fault?
- Hardware issue: The CD player may have a hardware issue, such as a damaged laser or faulty electronics, that is preventing it from reading normal CDs.
- Firmware issue: The CD player's firmware, which is the software that controls the device, may be outdated or corrupt, causing it to only read Super Audio CDs.
- Compatibility issue: The CD player may not be compatible with normal CDs, and is only able to read Super Audio CDs due to their specialized format.
In terms of adjusting the laser pick-up, it is generally not recommended to try to adjust the laser pick-up yourself, as it can be a delicate process that requires specialized equipment and knowledge. If you believe the issue may be related to the laser pick-up or other hardware, it may be necessary to seek the assistance of a qualified technician or the manufacturer.
If the CD player is unable to read the content of a normal CD and is returning to 00:00 tracks on the display, it is possible that the issue may be related to the laser pick-up or other hardware. It is also possible that the issue may be related to internal ICs or other electronics, in which case it may be necessary to diagnose the issue further to determine the cause and find a solution.

THE AVG. AVR HAS OVERLOAD DETECTOR AND LAMP AND RELAY
THAT FAILS WHEN OVERLOADED.
PER THIS SIMPLE LIST
- SPEAKER WIRES SHORTED.ENDTO END
- SPEAKER SHORTED.
- TOO MANY SPEAKERS WIRED IN PARALLEL.(THE ohms rule violated)]
- the amps side is failing.
- the overload detector is bad, telling lies, and shutting it down.
- try no speakers, to see if it trips.
- It is 1999 and is old. even bad caps inside now.
only does
Digital inputs: coaxial, optical
Video Connections: component, composite, SVHS
the rig has fan sensor failure and over temp too, and the service manual covers that.
see protector DRIVE here, it shuts down all outputs via relays.
