OLYMPUS DIGITAL ALL WEATHER

1) Make sure that the batteries are in good condition
2) Check and clean any dirt or corrosion from the battery terminals.

If the power supply voltage suddenly drops during initialization,
or when the lens is trying to extend itself, it could produce this
kind of error.

3) Make sure that the lens extension tubes are not mechanically
jammed.

4) Remove the batteries, turn the unit ON and wait for it to fully
discharge any internal capacitors, then put the batteries back
and try to turn the unit back on. This should fully RESET the
internal CPU.
===

Generally this kind of error means that the camera's internal
computer is trying to activate the lens zooming motors, but
the motors fail to move as expected.

Other causes could be:
a) burned out ZOOM motors
b) burned out motor drive circuitry
c) bad motor positioning sensor
d) defective computer components
e) failed internal firm-ware.

none of these cause are user fixable.

Hope this helps

Lens Error on my Photosmart M525

The lens extension mechanism is probably damaged,
or the circuit that drives it.

It could also be caused by poor batteries or bad
battery connection

see my other posts on the same topic.

Olympus 700 problem

You have physically bent the lens extension mechanism.
Professional repair is required. Get an estimate first
to make sure its worth it.

The data on the memory card would not be effected
by such an accident, but copy it to a PC ASAP just
to be sure.

Whats wrong?

1) Reset the camera
2) Turn it off and remove the batteries.
3) Try to turn it back on without the batteries, to drain any
residual energy within the internal capacitors.

4) Check the battery terminals for any dirt or corrosion,
scrape clean if necessary.

5) Check the batteries, or better yet, get new ones
and put them back in.

6) Turn the camera back on to see if it woks.

7) Try a different memory card.

If that does not fix it, you may need to take it to
a professional repair shop who are equipped to
service this model.

Get an estimate first, to make sure its worth it.
Digital cameras get better with time and lose value
very quickly.

If it works, use it as long as you can.

Fixing snap-shooters is generally not worth it,
since digital cameras evolve rapidly and lose
value even faster with age.

Error code

hi ,
i had the exact same problem as well. See my other reply to another user in this forum.
I still had my 2 year guarantee ( European ), and sent it back to Olympus.
They have told me that the zoom mechanism is broken ( which i figured anyhow !) , and they are replacing. As i said above, i am lucky that i was within the 2 year warranty.
If yours is still within the guarantee period then contact Olympus service.
If not, then i'm afraid you may have to pay.
Best of luck.

Diplay turning white on mju 700...

Hi

Sounds like your camera was dropped and the LCD was damaged. The white screen you see is typical for a defective LCD screen. The only way to repair the camera is to replace the bad part with a known good one.

One solution would be to buy a defective camera online that has a good LCD screen and swap them out.

Good luck from Darntoothysam com

Olympus Stylus 600/Digital 600 6.0 megapixel

Hi

This camera can be very picky when it comes to the front lens cover... It's not a simple mechanism and has many small parts and gears involved. If the lens cover is dislodged it won't work smoothly, and if the case is dented it will not be able to move properly and this can cause lens problems.

If the lens was out when the camera was dropped, then it's possible the lens was damaged and not the lens cover. Sometimes you can tear down the lens, clean it and rebuild it and it will work smoothly again, sometimes this doesn't work and the lens needs to be replaced.

If you're comfortable opening the camera, first check out the lens with the front body section removed so nothing is blocking the lens cover. Does it work properly now? If not, then expect lens damage to be the issue.

We are an AFFORDABLE digital camera repair shop... if we can assist you with parts or do the repair please let us know. (google: darntoothysam)

Hopefully this is of some help. Even if you don't use our services please feel free to let me know if you need more assistance.

Good luck from Darntoothysam com

My camers is stylus 500 but this was nearest description I could find

dropping of camera, especially on the lense side, gives damages to the lense barrels and their pivots. The moving barrels have small pin like projections which move into the grooves cut into the exterior barrel. when dropped either these pins get broken or they come out from the grooves due to the heavy jerk. If disaligned these can be set back to their normal position without much labour charges but if broken the whole assembly is replaced thus causing lot of payment.

Problem with memory (xd) card and camera

Look for a manual lock next to your XD memory card slot on your computer. Your computer may not have one but there are a few that do.

If there isn't one, go to My Computer, look for your memory card in the window. Move the mouse over to the memory card and select properties. Make sure that the read only box isn't filled in. If it is, click on it until it is empty.

Copy the contents of the memory card to your computer. Reinsert the memory card into your camera and reformat the memory card in your camera for the utilities option on your camera. If it doesn't reformat, there could be something wrong with the memory card.

Trouble with my olympus u 700.

Hi powerp,
I had the same problem with mine, and was advised by a friend of mine who is a digital buff, that the lens is not it it's right position.
Though it sounds a bit 'hammers to walnuts' kind of solution, his advice cured my mju700.
1/ Remove the battery and xd card.
2/ Hold the camera VERY tightly.
3/ Shake the camera violently for a few seconds (15 or so)
4/ Refit the battery and XD card, and switch on again.
Following this advice, mine know works fine.
The theory behind this is that particles of stuff get into the lens and cause the problems. Be carefull that your camera is always safe when on the beach etc !
I hope it works for you !

Pictures not uploading to computer

Take the memory card out and see if you can load it into another computer using a card reader and see if the memory card is good.

It could be a bad cable but at least if you can copy the card to the hard drive have your pictures.

No sound when making video clips

Yes there is an option to turn the sound off, so you can take up less space on the memory card. Try turning to the video clips on the dial then push the menu button for options!
