Bose Wave music system Multi-CD Changer 3-Disc - Answered Questions & Fixed issues

This would be best left up to a repair shop, unless the fate of the Bose is not an issue. :D

Loosen 4 screws on bottom. You may want to take the two front ones out. They are phillips head. Drop the botom portion of the changer down about an inch or so. You will see all the disc that are stuck. Take a pair of micro plyers and simply grab the edge of the disc and gently pull and it will come out very easily Be sure and grab the very edge of the disk so as not to damage it. It took me all of 5 minutes to remove the disc in a 3 disc changer. What caused it to become stuck in first place is another question. You shoud have a green light beside each slot that has a disc in it.

The laser pickup unit [Optical Pickup Unit] is faulty. Bose uses a special type. You can't get it from open electronic spare part market. It is best to get this set repaired by the authorised service center for bose at your town.

When it is broke it will do that, I mean need to buy another if it does it with all discs. It may not be reading anymoree and therefore says the message you get. Try to load from the my computer as well as desk top and see if anything works. Do you have the number to the company??

There should be an option on the remote or the top of the system.

Had the same problem with mine.....turn it over in your lap and give it a slap..not to hard. that should work. If not, remove the cover and flip the release button located in back. good luck!!

Could it be the CDs you can't play, are burned in a PC? Not all CD players can or will play CD's burned in a PC. Sometimes the CD player is to old, so not compatible with these CDs. Sometimes the player just does not play these CD's, because of rights protection. A CD burned in a PC is less reflective than an normal music CD. Normal CD's do have a metal coating and are highly reflective. Burned CD's have a dye, and where the laser burned the dye, it only changed colour. Making it less reflective. All modern CD playes should be capable of playing CD r's. But the player that is really compatible, is labelled CDr and CDrw compatible.

Can you turn it on and off from the machine without the remote?

Check the Disk opener tray Belt if it is not opening...

Go through the BOSE manual to see if another channel can be chosen to control the system. If not, try and locate them farther apart and shield the remote with your hand to avoid signal from getting to the unwanted device.

that is a problem because your system cannot read/receive commands thatr are blocked. Try ejecting by taping the player. If not, someone has to open the unit to get the cds out. Now this is an expensive unit so have someone knowlgeable to look at.

wilf? this is a wave radio and cd player, what update you're trying to accomplish when the unit is in working condition in the first place?. There's no such thing as an update...

If your CD's get scratched by being stacked on a table and shuffled around, you can often get them to play again with something like Skip Dr: http://www.amazon.com/SkipDr-Manual-Disc-Repair-System/dp/B0015ACUKC/ref=pd_sxp_grid_pt_2_0You may also be able to take them into your local video or video game store and have them professionally resurfaced.If the CD's are not scratched, and are commercially bought (ie. not cd's that you bought blank and burned music onto yourself) I would probably try contacting Bose.

Obviously the laser reader in the unit is picking up interference from dirt or misalignment. You may have to open it up to get to the aser parts to clean them.

Which unit do you have? I have looked at the owners manuals I could find and all the remotes show like mine a simple 'Time' with + and - under it. You have to run the time up to the AM or PM vs an actual setting. Hope this helps. It was one of the reasons I looked for the manual so i really hope it helps you also! :)

check for the alarm setting

Someone is going to have to open it up and LOOK to see if jammed, out of alignment or has damaged mechanism. Any of these can prevent the unit from working.
