AKAI LCT2060 Problem
If you bought your TV at Costco, you may want to call their free Concierge Service at 1-866-861-0450. They had me take it to an electronics repair facility that determined it was the AC adapter that can no longer be replaced. They then asked me to take the TV back to the Costco warehouse, where the manager gave me a reduced credit to buy a new TV. I did not have to put out any money for any of this.
Costco stands behind their electronics, much like Sears did with its merchandise a long time ago when it was a real store. I will probably only purchase electronics from Costco, because of my experience.

NO sound and NO cable signals
Is your tv connected to your cable box through HDMI, AV, or component?
_____________________________
If its through HDMI then your cable carrier needs to load updated frimware in your box to communicate properly with your 2005 tv. The firmware loaded in your cable box needs to be "reverse compatible" for first generation HDMI from your 2005 tv. If your using AV or component hook-up and there's no sound then re-check all of your audio settings within the tv's menu. Also recheck the cable-wire your using and proper input/output ports.
ON your dvd player, is your tv connected through component, AV(rca) or HDMI?
If its through "component" then you need an extra audio cable to and from the DVD and tv.

White screen with dish network
This is an ancient message so you have probably long since found your problem.
There may be additional input settings to be made since it sounds like the set isn't seeing any input.
If you are using the cable input on both the receiver and TV, you will have to set the TV to channel 3 or 4 to see the output of the Dish receiver.
There are three common ways to connect; via the familiar cable in/outputs, S-video with a separate audio cable, and possibly DVI.
The TV's input may not search for and find the right input since many sets have a setting via their menu to force the set to look at a specific input.
It helps to have both the Dish manual and the set's manual side-by-side.

No power to my lct 2070.
It's doubtful that the power cord is at fault; about 3/4 of all complaints regarding an inability to turn on are due to a failed main power supply; wish I had better news for you.
For a tech with a few fairly common instruments, troubleshooting this is no big problem but without some background and those couple of measurement devices, your chance of finding this problem and correcting it permanently is poor.

TV as PC Monotir
Most widescreen TVs use a resolution of 1366 x 768, try that and see if it works.
You will never get as good an image on a large TV as you will get on a dedicated monitor. I have never looked, but you can search the internet and see if you an find a driver for using a widescreen TV as a monitor, you never know what you might come across.

Screen goes black after 2 seconds
This is a mean problem, and I feel for anyone who has it.
This can be caused by a bad power board, a bad main board or a lcd LCD panel.
An authorized repair shop would be able to substitute the main and
power boards to find the source of the fault, but you don't have that
luxury.
Unless you want to risk paying for an expensive part you don't need, I would suggest you take it to an Akai repair shop.
