Can you elaborate more on the damage etc and how you have a solution

I installed my Hunter Ceiling Fan a little over a year ago. A few nights ago my wife told me the lights in the ceiling fan blinked a few times when she turned it on. Over the next few day the problem got much worse. When I turned on the light switch, the lights would not turn on. After a few minutes the lights would begin to flash, like a strobe light. This flashing would last for about a minute. This morning I removed the light kit. I noticed the watt regulator, part 98480-02. I connected the wires directly that were wired through the regulator. So far, the light now works fine!

The numbers you stated are from the fan pull chair switch.

If it's not a Hunter Orginal, you don't. What is the model #?
