Need to clear bushnell northstars
Bushnell has never given instructions on how to do this. Try calling their service center here:

My telescope is producing an upside down image
Nothing. All astronomical telescopes show upside down images. There is no up or down in space. You can buy an "erecting prism diagonal".
Just Google it----- and you will see several examples that you can buy. These are only used for terrestrial viewing.

Upside down sight
You need a 'spotting scope' adapter to right the image using a prism.

How come when I look at a planet or star throught
Hand controllers do NOT like cold weather. It's just a function of the LED lights. Put the hand controller in your pocket to keep it warmer than the outside temperature.
Your scope has a maximum magnification of about 40 times aperture. So about 200 power. If you exceed this the image just starts to degrade -- it gets bigger BUT fuzzier.
Stay with lower magnification eyepieces. Certainly above about 10-12mm...... You will get better views using eyepieces from 15-22mm, and you need one wide field low magnification eyepiece of about 30-32mm.

Computer control and pointing with NorthStar Goto & Autostar
Your reseller is correct. The wire (Meade cable #505) goes from an RS232 serial port on PC to a 4pin RJ plug. This plugs into the 2nd socket on the bottom of an Autostar 497 handset, the other socket being used for the curly lead to the telescope. So it goes PC to Autostar to telescope.
A common error is to try plugging the serial wire into an "AUX" ort on the telescope control panel - same connector. Not only does this not work, it can cause a lot of damage.
Wired like this you can control the scope from Meade's Autostar Suite (or many other planetarium softwares). You can also update the Autostar software to the latest 2009 version.
What else can go wrong? Well, many people want to control from a laptop, and modern ones don't have RS232 serial ports. Then you need a USB-to-serial convertor dongle, which effectively add a serial port to a laptop. But they often give it a very high port number (eg COM17) that the planetarium software does not find. Use Control Panel to reset the USB-serial-port to COM 1, 2, 3 or 4 and all should be well. But it can be a right fiddle!

Computer not accurate
Looking through the manual (link follows) please check that you set the time in 24 hour clock with timezone correctly. Also the date & of course location. I see no reset function in the manual but I guess leaving the batteries out for a while will reset it.
Manual link:
http://www.bushnell.com/customer_service/manuals/telescopes/78-8876_1LIM.pdf
Also although it says you do not need to know where the stars are you're aligning to it's good to have some idea that you're actually aligning with "Mizar" or whatever. You can find maps of the night sky where you are on this link:
http://www.wunderground.com/sky/index.asp
Finally check if there is a local astronomy group that you can join, they are always ready to encourage & help people.

Eyepiece assembly bushnell telescope
You never told us what model number or telescope TYPE you own. Is this a refractor or a reflector. ???
If a REFRACTOR usually you have a diagonal, the diagonal goes into the focuser and then the eyepiece goes into the diagonal.
On a REFLECTOR the eyepiece goes directly into the focuser.
