I have no idea what you mean by 'running fine past the safety' - but, sensors go bad, which is why they sell replacements. Chalk it up to coincidence and go on (have it repaired or replace yourself).

Get the pcm computer checked first for errors. The 2 knock sensors are bolted into the cylinder block under the intake manifold. The sensors are used only with the 3.7L engine.

There should be a plastic timing cover on front of the engine, remove this cover and the sensor should be in there! Good luck!

The knock sensor is located in the rear on the left hand side on the top of the engine.

I there is /was a engine code showing up you may need to reset the computer, more than likely you just need to drive the vehicle for some distance and the computer will reset itself. If not, the easiest way would be to disconnect the negative battery terminal for 3 - 5 minutes, reconnect and start the vehicle letting it run for 15 mnutes,. should be all set.

Not being sure about this model but do you have the air hose connected to the tire vent and does it meet the minimum requirements? This may be the only way that the compressor can know how much pressure is in the tire and to start counting.

I have not been able to purchase replacement parts for these nail guns , however, have repaired them using parts from Bostitch framers and or just make the part. If the seal fits over the top of the cylinder, then try using seal from Bostitch framer part #N70155 fits a bit tight but works. Heat with a hair dryer to soften and install. If the seat is incorporated within the head valve, just dig it out and replace it with liquid two part urethane. Just mix and pour it in. After cleaning out the old seal, place head valve on level surface and pour in the mixed urethane till slightly over full to give the seal a nice crown. The finish nailer might also be repaired using other brand of seals. Remove the old part and take it to service center for a possible match. Good luck with your repair.
