I put a c610 bios update in my dell c510 latitude laptop

Go back to the Dell website and enter your computer model number and then go to the support tab and then find the bois file list and see if there is any earlier bios files that you could reflash the bios with an older bios version. Or, if you saved your old bios to a file before you updated to the newer bios you could reflash the bios using that one. You did save your old bios didn't you? Does your computer boot to the OS ok or not. I really don't have enough information from you to really help any further. Sorry, Dennis

My computer is on and has a blank page and it will not let me get to startup

What do you mean blank page? And what is startup? Is startup the desktop with your icons? Tell exactly what happens and what you see when you power on the computer.Maybe you are saying your system booted up all the way except your screen is blank. If so try the steps below.

Shine a flashlight on the dark screen to see if you barely see the icons on the desktop. If so, then the LCD Inverter is bad. Plug in an external monitor and see if the display shows up on it. It can be any kind of monitor even the old big fat crt monitors as long as it has a vga cable to connect to your computer's vga port. If so that proves your video card is ok. The video will show on most systems when you reboot without you having to do anything. Some systems will require you to hit the FN (Function key) + F1 thru F12. Hold down the FN key then hit the correct key for displaying on the monitor (F1 thru F12). The correct key will normally have CRT/LCD on it or it will have the icon of a display. If you see no icons by shinning a flash light and the external monitor works, then your screen is bad. If you see no icons by shinning the flash light and nothing shows on the external monitor, then most likely your video card is bad.

Dell latitude c510 administrator password

If you're locked out of your computer, you can use a program such as OphCrack to recover passwords for local accounts. The LiveCD is incredibly easy to use, just boot from it and it does everything automatically.

My screen goes black (feint)

If your laptop appears to boot up and the hard disk LEDflashes, then the problem is probably a back light fault. This can be a faultyinverter or a faulty CCFL lamp. I reinstalled Windows XP Pro on my Dell Latitude

Hopefully this helps

Try the following: click start, RIGHT click on My PC, click on administration, select services and applications, select Start wireless configuration service, click start service. Close the window
Open configuration of wirless network, flag the option let windows configure my wirelss network
That should let you see and select your wireless device

I have to do this everytime I start my laptop. I would like to have the system make this automatically, but I don't know how.

My dell won't start up

Try to start it into Safe Mode first. After turning on the power, push the F5 or F8 key until it starts up into Safe Mode. If it begins to start and goes to a desktop, you might one of two things.

It may stop at a question of whether you want Safe Mode or System Restore. This will only happen if you are running XP or a newer version of Windows.

You must decide which one you want. If this problem is recent then you might want to use System Restore and go back about 3 days before the problem began. Otherwise, you will need to use Safe Mode to try to find where the problem is.

If you have one installed, run a good virus checker to be sure that you don't have a virus infection.

Good Luck,
-a.

I lost file, edit, view ,history ,etc; and it

I am assuming this is a problem with Internet Explorer. To fix this, move you mouse to an empty part of a toolbar near the top (But not right at the top) of the screen.

Right-click and you should see a drop-down menu, left click on "menu bar" and you should see you file, edit, view history buttons reappear.

Bought this C510 at a yard sale. No user or admin

You can use external CD drive to reinstall windows, or use Superutilities CD to change the passwords. Also you can take the HDD out and attach it to a desktop PC to ghost an image on it.
You can too replace the internal CD drive with a working one.
