Had 512mb ram installed in each slot and one day
Your motherboard is quite old. It could be the RAM slot is simply dirty(use canned air), but if that's the case, the PC doesn't boot. The memory controller could be dying(replace motherboard or upgrade system). There could be other issues but it sounds like your memory itself is fine.
You could try reinstalling the BIOS, but because of the age of your computer, you shouldn't spend any money trying to get it fixed. It would probably be cheaper just to get a compatible used motherboard on eBay as replacement. The better long term financial decision would have to be building either a used parts PC (because CPUs have barely gotten better in the last 5 years) or a brand new system.
This isn't very much information to draw on, so if you can update your information, I can help more.

Hello Sir, When SMPS for motherboard burnt, all
Get a good used mo bo on ebay to replace the one you have.
Make sure you get the exact replacement and it will go right in and you will not have any hassles with compatibility/driver issues.
Lot cheaper!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The AC97 on Motherboards after new Windows
You should say what version of Windows. The AC97 chipset is so common that it must be supported. Many Windows XP drivers will work for Windows 7. You must unpack the driver files and select it manually from device manager.

My problems is sound driver download
first you check sound is mute or not if the complaint is still there then goes to my computer-> properties->device manager-> hardware, if a question mark in the sound driver then u can download it from company site before downloading sound driver you have to verify your laptop model number & model name then then type it in the site(service & maintains section) after download you can instal it in the computer by click RUN-> next-> finish, through this way you can solve the problem

When powerd up i get 1 long beep after another, what could it bve?
Each motherboard BIOS has a series of beeps meaning different things. If you are getting two long beeps then I recommend looking up in the pdf manual in the FAQ or troubleshooting section of the guide. It could be anything like a heatsink not properly inserted, or the cpu cooler fan is broken or not plugged in, the memory needs reseated, or graphics card is not compatible, etc.
