could be many issues. Take a flashlight and hold it right against the screen. Can you see a picture? if so the lcd is working but the backlights are not. If that is the case you could have bad power supply caps on the 24 volt section, a bad inverter board, or a bad ccfl lamp itself inside the back of the screen

LCD sets use either a fluorescent backlight or LEDs if newer. If your set uses the fluorescent type, either the lamp itself or the inverter that produces the 'strike' (high) voltage for it has failed.Inverter failures are pretty common but the lamp life in in 5-digits of hours (probably >10,000 hrs)
