No output but all checks seem positive...

You should hear 2 clicks..one when you first turn the unit on, and a second one about 5-20 seconds later. I'm going to guess you don't hear the second click, which means that your NAD has DC Offset, meaning a damaged amplifier.

I have a Yamaha preamplifier

I asked for more info, but I have replaced many hundreds of unobtainable transformers. All the voltages can be found by a bit of logic thinking & observation. If I have the item in front of me I will have the solution in minutes.
Double red with black, expecially together is normally a X-0-X winding, identified by the rectifier & smoothing caps. The voltages on them will give some indication, but tracing the voltage to an regulator is an accurate solution.
What are the voltages used for?
Normally the one winding will be a low voltage like 12-18 volt for the pre-amps mixers etc. This very often will go through oner or more voltage regulators. Their voltage is written on them, and they will have have small heatsink on them & live near the rectifiers & caps. Look for three legged items marked something like 7812. This is a 12 volt reghulater while a 7809 is a 9 volt regulater. The split voltage say from 20-0-20 to 80-0-80 max will drive the power amp. A 20 watt stereo amp will most likely use two integrated circuits. Luckily you can find their operating voltages very easily by typing in their number like TDS2005 into google. As for an output stage like a 60 to 100 Watt amplifier, a voltage like 60 0 60 and 80 0 80 is used. If in doubt, go a bit lower & play safe. All you will loose is a few watts. If logic (computer circuitry) is used, all computers use basic only 12 volt and 5 volt. Very easy.
Before you give up or look for a new transformeer, just check!!!!!
Most *** xformers have a secret fuse inside them which is easily replaced if you know how!

My nad c352 suddenly has

Hi,

Welcome to Fixya. this is not a quick fix because it seems to be that this is a hardware issue. Would like to know if there was a power surge when using the amplifier? An internal part of the mainboard is damage it can be the capacitor, Transistor, or can be the fuse of the system.

Thanks

The volume keeps disappearing on the left speaker

Sounds like there is might be dirty contacts inside the volume potentiometer I would suggest spaying the control with a contact spay which will clean and lubricate the control.

Amp c352 TI 1515456 failure

It sounds like yo shorted the speaker wires together for a short time and smoked the output section of the amp. The amber light is an indication that the amp is in protect mode. If you attempt to power up the amp and still have the amber light even with all speaker wires disconnected, the amp needs repair. The output transistors for that side will need to be replaced.

NAD S200 one channel is not working

You have a fault in the power amp. Identify the faulty channel by following the input leads. As, a stereo amp is basically two mono amps put together. You can compare the bad channel with the good one. First thing to do is a visual look around. If you see something odd looking in one channel and it's the faulty one, compared with the good channel, you might have found the cause. Look at the devices or device on the heatsink especially. If nothing stands out, the next thing to do is test the channels. You can do this in two ways. First, by touching the parts on each channel (with power on) with an insulated screwdriver. If you get a buzz in one channel and nothing in the bad one, in the same places of course! You might have located the faulty device. You can do the same with a volt meter. The readings should be the same in each channel. Work forward from the end of the preamp stage. Don't bother with the power supply parts, as they are common to both channels. By the way, don't short anything!

I have a NAD 1600 receiver for 40 years. It always worked fine!! I just moved it 15 feet to new room and volume seems stuck on high! Knob turns but volume doesn't change. What happened??

It is funny, I was just reading an article today about New Acoustic Dimension Cassette decks saying they were top of the line and equal to Nakamichi. The most likely reason is that the volume control needs cleaning with Electrical Switch Cleaner. You would have to remove the case and look. It is worth a quick spray. This says it has a motorized volume control. https://www.google.com/search?q=nad+1600+receiver+volume+on+high+volume ..

Where can I get a volume and balance control for a 1990 or so NAD 1300 preamp?

You can find volume and balance control components for the NAD 1300 preamp from a variety of sources. You can check with NAD directly, or look for parts on websites such as eBay or Amazon. Additionally, you may be able to find parts from audio/electronics shops in your local area.

Have a Nad 3020 using as preamp to Nad 2600 amp. Is there a way to hook up an equalizer

NAD (New Acoustic Dimension) was all the rage when I was into composite audio in the 1970s. Not sure why would want to tweak that sweet clear natural sound like the performers played it. Your problem will be that you are loading an amp to a pre amp. https://www.google.com/search?q=Nad+2600 https://www.google.com/search?q=Nad+3020 https://www.google.com/search?q=nad+3020+nad+2600+graphic+equalizer ..

NAD 5425 CD Player display light out

Hi aartman

Yes it does have backlamps.

They are soldered to the PCB so you will need a few tools like a soldering iron, philips screwdrivers, solder, and some replacement lamps. Replace the lamps with this type from Farnell electronics. They have a 15000 hr life expectancy and last alot longer in the unit. I have tried many types of lamps over the years, and found these are the best choice if you want them to last.

FOR YOUR SAFETY-BE SURE TO DISCONNECT FROM THE MAINS BEFORE REMOVING THE LID

To get access to the lamps, you need to pull the main PCB out of the chassis to then get access to the bottom side of the printed circuit board where the 2 screws that retain the white lamp reflector assembly. Change both lamps with the type I mentioned,
6ab9edb.jpg Be careful not to flex the LCD display that is now exposed, it is quite fragile with the support of the lamp reflector cover no longer in place. ... reverse procedure to reassemble and away you go.

I am more than happy to talk about this solution with you further. Just ask away. Cheers

Nad t753 volume control knob doesnt work

I'm going to assume that you mean it jumps around, volume up/down by itself? If so, you have a bad rotary encoder. If you are interested in having your NAD repaired, please visit my website at audioserviceclinic.com. You may contact me there. Thank you.
