If you are using just a "yellow" ended cable for the video, maybe your custom settings are set to use "component"? I have been using this same dvd player for a while with the component video out and it works fine. I hope this helps.

what you will want to do is go into the users guide and find the reset factory defaults option usually it involves holding a button or two while starting the device however are sometimes very different

There is some dust problem first you have to clean the optical block with disc cleaner. If still have problem then need to replaced optical block with new one.

Yes,Some one have set the child lock ON accidently.so it appears as LOCKED

As this child lock is ON you cannot open the tray.

Please follow the below steps to open child lock,

When player is in standby mode press RETURN,ENTER and then ON/STANBY BUTTON again.

You can open it.

If it appears as TRAY LOCKED ,You should contact your sony dealer or authiorised sony service centre.
