Sony KV36XBR450 - no sound
Hi!
Check for the cables to the cable box/reciever. What type of cable are you using for connection with the cable box(HDMI,RCA component cables)? Your tv is fine as it is working with the dvd player. The issue is with the cables connecting the cable box or from the cable company. Call them to get more information about this issue(maybe weak signals)
Please ask for further clarifications.
Please rate this solution as Fixya if found useful.
Thanks

KV-36XBR450 input selection problem
Go into the menu on the TV and go to the far right under setup. Select "video label" then select "program". A menu will come up listing the 7 inputs. Make sure that the input you are using for your PS3 is not set to "skip". While you're there, set any of the other outputs you're not using to "skip". Your TV/Video button will only cycle through the ones that aren't skipped. Have Fun!
