Need Instructions to replace D Board in Sony KDP57WS655
Its a picture tube type rear projection---you face several issues here---1. Finding a good replacement board2. The D board is to the left as seen from rear.3. multiple black foldover plugs on one side.4. multiple plugs to board itself (two groups of 3 identical plugs to make sure you mark to get back exactly where removed.5. multiple tiny brass screws that secure the board to the black plastic frame.6. Two red wires from flyback (one fat and one thin) to remove--the thin one goes forward and can be pulled off where it connects and the fat one should have a short run up to the gray or black splitter where you push it in and turn to release it----a few versions require a special tool to remove it at the actual flyback. When all (mark every plug) are free the board lifts up from front and comes out---common mistakes include not taking all the small screws out.Lastly it is usually easier to repair than replace this board--you getting any error or blink code from the power light? Also I have seen a bad convergence chip cause this (should be on same board and stk-392-560) and unsoldering both chips the set will come on----have to be careful there as lots of little surface mounted parts where chips solder in on bottom of board. As much information as I can think of---let me know if need more help.Regards, SD TECH
Mysony wega KDP-57WS655 press power button straight to standby flashing 10 times
Indicates a problem with the high voltage circuit. You could try unplugging the power cord, plug it back in and try again. If that doesn't work unplug the power cord again but leave unplugged for at least five hours and try again. Still doesn't work find a local repair shop that works on sony tvs and have them fix it for you.
Standby light flashes 10 times over and over, no
Hello,
You need to check the output voltages of the power supply to see which one goes off. It may be due to short circuits some where,If otherwise, power supply board is dead, u know basic electronics' and soldering? Most of the times, the power supply board just have dead leakages gases capacitors. These capacitors always bulges up on it top,or puff up on it top.Replaced these gases leakages capacitors will get your TV power stable, and work again.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.
Take care in solving the problem....
I changed the bad resistor.
Check the three CRT drive boards one of the video ICs may be out or you could have a shorted CRT. I would try removing one CRT drive board at a time and see if the set will power up and run with the one Drive board unplugged. That will let you know which CRT has an issue if its CRT related. If that doesnt allow the set to power up then the A board would be suspect

We have good news and bad news ;)
The bad news is that the 10 blinks you see usually indicate a failure of the circuit boards and you will need a diagnostic visit from a technician to figure out exactly which IC or board has gone bad. It's probably something on the board that controls the magnets that control one of the CRT "guns".
The good news is that, if parts are still available for your unit, it's certainly cheaper to repair than to buy a new LCD LED TV, especially one as big as yours.
You should call Sony for the name of repair companies in your area. A diagnostic visit from their rep will usually run about $150 in the US. They'll take that amount off of the total bill if you go forward with the repair. Replacement of the video IC boards run about $250 each in parts, plus the initial $150 labor charge, for a total of $400 for a typical repair. If they can't fix it, you're only out the initial fee.
Beautiful TV, BTW. Good luck!

Hi:
This is a problem with the D-Board, or deflection board as we call it, there are two Ic's that needs replacing that has failed. They are power controller Ic's on the deflection board.
