I have pink spots on my screen. when you look at the surface of the screen, there are no scratches or any other type of damage. the pink spots appear on every channel and every mode (DVD, satellite, etc ) they are blotchy and all over the screen, and I am not sure but they seem to be getting worse. any ideas?
I just vacuumed out my 42 wega and it looks 100% better. Not for the faint of heart but it was free and only took me 2 hours.

Screen keeps turning off followed by the green power/standby light flashing several times. This has been cycling all day. I pulled the lamp and retightened all the screws but it is still doing it. Any suggestions?
I've been trying to find th thermal fuse on a 42we655 for like 3 weeks...It's not under the lamp...Any one know where it is?
Thanks

I had had this TV for about 11 months when a yellow spot about 10" in diameter apeared along with a diagonal line to the middle of the bottom of the screen and up to the middle. The yellow lines went away after a few days but the spot remains. The discoloration mostly shows up on white or light colored pictures. Is there anything I can do to fix or help make this problem less noticable.
I would suggest to try to get this TV fix while still under warranty. Normally the manufacturers give one year.
In regards to the discoloration, there is not much you do but to let the Sony authorized repair center knows about it so they can fix it. Ask them if their work is guarantee as well for how long.
Good Luck.

I have a Sony Grand Wega 60WF655 TV and there are blue spots on the screen. I replaced the bulb and now there is a blue tint that is on half of the screen.
sounds like your optical block lenses has melted due to heat.
( common problem) here is the light engine/optical block number

my 50" 50we655 has blue dots all over the screen. what part do i need to fix this and what will it cost? I haveth screen turning blue from the left lower corner and has now "grown" across half the screen... little blue dots too... <!-- from fixya rte -->
thats a common symptom for that model which is usually related to the optical block. Very exspensive repair. Check with a sony authorized repair center as Sony has recognized the problem and offer assistance with certain models yours may be one of the ones affected.

Projection lamp is nearing end of life. What does this mean?
Most of these sets the lamp has a 2000 hour lifespan and there is a built in counter keeping track of how many hours the set has been on; Most of these sets when you change the lamp you need to have information to get into the Tech menu to reset the timer to zero.
Some sets that lamp lasts longer and some less.

my Sony wega tv won't turn on goes into standby red light blinks 10 times then shuts off?
Look at the owner manual as the 10 blinks is a error code or Google the model number to locate that information--Sony error codes are general and often misleading.
I would if looking at the set inspect the lamp first.
