My lens is stuck inside and is not cuming out even

Hello

The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel after dropping it. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.

Use these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.

Firstly , try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.

Try holding the shutter button while switching on the camera.

Look at the lens , and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).

Try gently pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.

Another way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the camera is enough to get things going again.

Try hitting your camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of your hand.

Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair center for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to replace the camera.

If it is still under warranty I would suggest you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

Hope the advise is useful.

Regards
Andrea

My S1 displays fee and I can't use it. What does

You're using a lens with an aperture ring on it, aren't you? Turn the aperture ring on the lens to its smallest setting (largest f/number) and lock it in place if it has a lock. You can control the aperture from the camera body the same way as on a lens without an aperture ring.

I get an err messasge when the camera is turned

If "Err" is displayed on the LCD panel on the top of the camera when the "MENU/EXE" button on the FinePix S1 Pro is pressed, check the following:

<If "Err" is not flashing>

1. If the slot cover is open, switch the camera off, close the slot cover and switch the camera back on.

2. If the remaining charge in the AA-size batteries is low, switch the camera off, replace the batteries and switch the camera back on.

3. If steps 1 and 2 above do not remedy the problem, contact the store where you purchased the camera or your nearest authorized FUJIFILM repair center.

<If "Err" is flashing>

1. Pictures cannot be taken because the remaining charge in the lithium batteries is too low or because the camera mechanism has stopped operating due to the camera being used in cold conditions.

In this event, switch the camera off, replace the batteries and then switch the camera back on. If replacing the batteries does not resolve the problem, set the focusing mode to "M" and release the shutter before switching the camera off briefly.

2. If step 1 above does not resolve the problem, contact the store where you purchased the camera or your nearest authorized FUJIFILM dealer.

I turn on the camera

Turn the aperture ring on the lens to its smallest aperture (largest f/number). You can control the aperture from the camera as you do on a lens without an aperture ring.

Trying to use a 500mm

Set the aperture on the lens to its smallest setting (largest f/number) and set the camera to the Manual exposure mode. You have to meter manually and control the aperture from the camera as on a lens without an aperture ring.

Fujifilm S1...after taking a picture,

First check with another Memory card. If you have the same problem with another one, remove the card, then check the card contacts inside the camera. They might not conduct properly, if you don't see anytihg out of the ordinary here, then I recomend you contact Fujifilm directly.

If the problem is on one card only, try to format it while inside the camera, then if It doesn't work try to format it on a computer.
If by doing this the card is still not working, it is certainly dead.

Hope this helps.

I am getting a FEE

I don't know if you have a manual fir this camera so I'm giving you a "Google" search link for a manual in PDF format. It the fourth one down.

http://www.google.ca/#hl=en&source=hp&biw=1303&bih=818&q=Fuji+S1+Pro+PDF+manual&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=&fp=a5556ef3492e88b9

Okay, I've had several Fuji Pro cameras including the S5 Pro and these cameras had dual memory card slots it's listed in section 6 page 24 of this PDF manual

Okay what can happen and happened to me several times (didn't learn the first time) was that I had the camera set on the Compact Flash card and filled it up but the camera needs to be manual set for the next card it's not automatic. So I'm going to assume that the media card you are trying to write the new picture files to is full.

You can download the pictures and then format the car (in the camera) then continue or switch to the other card in the card slot. This camera used a Smart Media and a Compact Flash Card.

Cheers

I have an S! Pro Finepix, which I got in A

The Fuji S1 Pro is not a sealed camera, it's full electronic and vulnerable to moister. Hot and humid conditions will cause these cameras to fog and not just this camera either Nikon's and Canon will do the same so lets not point a finger at any one brand. Dampness is bad news for any camera that is not sealed and even sealed the camera can be moisture damaged through the lens. By hooking up the power supply you may have shorted out the damp circuity. That's already done and we can't back up so I'm suggesting that you place it on a warm register ( I don't know what climate you are in) or in a window with sun light heat on it OR and you got to be careful with this. I've placed my Nikon EM on a food warming tray to dry it out after a dunking it took, the camera wasn't submerged but got damp in the camera bag. I just hope you haven't scorched the electronics that's a nice little camera. Sorry for the bad news.
