I have an pioneer deh p4700mp and when i try to
Take the faceplate off and check the metal contacts on the deck and on the rear of the faceplate... Make sure they are clean and all intact..
You can use a soft pencil eraser to clean the metal contacts.. see if this improves things.

Set the clock
From what I can remember you need to shut off the stereo by holding down the source button and then hold down the function button until the settings come up. The keep hitting function until the time setting appears
