Nor-Lake KLB7766CL - Answered Questions & Fixed issues

Unfortunately, this model has had quite a few problems, because it is such a complicated refrigerator. Many times a shorted component that is connected to the Iceland main control board will affect completely unrelated items making it easy to chase your tail for hours. I would suspect the freezer thermostor - only because we have had to replace it many times in the past.
Suggest you go to the www.searspartsdirect.com and copy the electrical diagram and then verify electrical reading on the main PCB, to try to isolate the problem.

There are a few companys that make temp chart recorders that are battery controled and you could get one of these and just put it inside the refrigerator, problem solved. Check at United Refrigeration, and Johnstone Supply they both have manufacturers that will allow you to keep charts. The 2 things to keep in mind 1 How often are you going to change charts, 2 what temperature range are you looking for.

Oh yes and Im sure there is a company that makes a remote sensed temp recorder that can tie into a computer and print out charts as needed. This is a little more specialized but I know the technology is asvailable. Probably Johnson or Penn Controls would know about this.

If this helps you in any way please rate me as high as you can. If you need to contact me and I can do the searching for you post back.

The most likely causes are an evaporator fan not working or a defrost system failure. If there’s a layer of frost building up on the back wall of your freezer then you have a defrost problem and not enough cold air can get to the fresh food section. I would recommend getting a professional out to fix it. If you want to try to fix it yourself, look up “LG fridge not defrosting”.

If leaking from the back and outside of the box, you need to tighten the water line. If it is leaking water from inside the box , bottom front then you need to defrost the fridge and after you defrosted check that the fan or fans are operating when it's on and no more ice is left.

adjustment on this mystery item is always done at the hinges, slacken them off a little and move the door to how you want it and then tighten them back up.

You need gauges to check the freon charge while it's short cycling, could be restricted or low on charge! You might try cleaning the coils and see if it's an air restriction, you have a safety device causing it to shut down and most the time on those its bc they are interchanged!

Check to see if there is ice/frost in the air passage between the freezer and the refrigerator. If warm humid air gets in, like leaving the door open too long or opening it too often, the passage can get blocked and cold air can't get to the refrigerator. The controls for setting the temperature often include one to open or close that passage and so will help you locate it. A heat gun or hairdryer can help melt the ice. Also, check to make sure you have not blocked the flow of air at either end.

There is a high temp cutout that will cut power to the fridge when it trips. Go to the outside access and look on the round flue canister for some wires that are connected to a small disc In the center of that disc is a tiny little button. Gently push it in.

there is a thin pipe running back and forth. At one time, the pipe was filled with Freon gas. Your pipe is either short or not reaching the bottom of the refrigerator

There are only a few scenarios where the water is coming from to congregate there.

Condensation from putting food in there which is warm, especially anything not wrapped or bagged.

Defrost water drain blocked. Look for a channel at the back or within the blower unit. (this is the most likely)

Badly fitting, split or worn out door seal. This lets warm moist air from the room into the cabinet which then freezes.

Excessive frost build up reducing efficient circulation of air, or overloading.

Finally, kids spilling water!
