If you convert it to a .MKV you can create a subrip format .srt files using notepad and then merge it into the video using MKVtoolnix. It is probably a .mpg file like my Samsung and Canon cameras so MKVtoolnix can load it and out put it into a .mkv format container without recoding it since .MKV supports that codec.
