You have all the resistor are correct! Yes I can Tell you exactly what you need to know and How to Save settings after you adjust convergence, I have to pull out my manual on your hand unit Be right back. first you need to go to front of TV remove front bottom panel to where you can see the front of chassis on the board you replaced ICs there is a small blue contact button with TV on press and hold for 5secs Convergence Pattern should appear! You will need your hand unit to begin to adjust convergences.

I would order direct from the manufacture at lease place a call into them for the exact make of those chips. I would not use other brands you might have issues with them in the long term. Part store.com has parts but is given to you as a source to look. Ebay I would look for hitachi sdk ic's for this exact model and same value chips.

Do not get fooled into upgraded chips. Now again if the exact chips does not find a resolve to this issue you might have other issues on the circuit. Many people replace the entire board just to rid them self of this issue with the IC replacements.

You need the exact IC's here straight put if the person looked at your tv and told you you can use a upgrade IC then so be it but frankly on this model I am afraid our Tech was correct and I will second him and commend him on his effort in helping you with your TV. Whoever said there is a upgrade IC for your tv is not a person I would trust I would put that exact same value and model IC in there period. But if your still having issues with convergence after you get the correct IC's you might be having other issues with the convergence then what you feel it was.

Remove the lower speaker grill assembly and there will be 4-6 screws at the base of the screen assembly.It is best to have an extra person to help remove the screen.Grab the lower corners of the screen assembly and lift straight up.You can then use a micofiber cloth and ordinary glass cleaner to clean the mirror and lenses.Remember not to drip!

you need to have the stk 392-120 replace but some restor 2.8onm to this will fix red line it a coming thing for this set if a game xbox or ps2 or 3 or eny games will miss up the bigscreen bad to

These are Resistors that need to be replaced After replacing ICs in the convergence circuit RK42- 3.3ohms RK46-1.8ohms RK50 2.7ohms RK54 1.5ohms RK58 3.9ohms RK62 2.2 ohms Your ICs should still be OK.

Problem #1) Convergence

Symptoms:

• Screen Looks 3D
• Colors wont align
• Video may look distorted

Problem #2 CRT Fluid has clouded over. Symtoms

• Dull looking video
• White looking video
• Halos around objects
• Red/Orange looking video

It will be a 6 AMP GMA style fuse.

I would not understand why you would unsolder SDK IC unless there was a issue with convergence. The lead on the deflection shows fine if its on then it must be something in the PWB that is causing this thing to fualt..

This would needs more clarification as I do not know the history of the TV on what parts where replaced ETC ETC, would suspect convergence when you said you un soldered SDK ICS.

A red light on DP06 would mean fault so work your way from the power supply to the convergence and probe HVAC is all I can suggest in this case without having you throwing parts at this like a mechanic in the backyard would do. I would need to look at this TV to give you a set in stone diagnosis but I hope my information helps. STKxxx-xxx is big black IC (chip) that used in convergence out section of rear projection TV. It is mounted on aluminum heat sink to shift its heat to maintain its temperature.

The best thing to do here that is easy-----get at the two STK-392-110 CHIPS and un-solder both of them--if the set then comes on--one is bad--you might also take a close look at all the low value resistors around them--all have location numbers on the top of the board--like RK51 etc.

If you find a discolored resistor--or if unsoldering the chips lets the set turn on----you have found your problem.

It is not unusual in these sets for things not to be perfectly straight---if the set has recently been repaired for a Convergence problem--someone may not have adjusted it correctly.

Understand: if it is a 43uwx10b Hitachi:

The green convergence is adjusted first for a grid of straight lines up and down and left/right---if the green grid is not straight you are going to see a bow when things scroll across the screen.

The other possible problem you may have is a convergence problem--if you go into the customer menu and try to adjust convergence--not the magic focus-- are the blue and red adjusting or not?

I know the HItachi sets very well--I own two of them and have repaired hundreds of them.

I would guess you missed a open resistor--there are only about 12 of them--how did you check them?

This set (43uwx10b) has a tiny blue micro switch on the front of the chassis---if you engage it from the front the set will go into the DECAM or convergence mode--let me know the CLU number on your original remote and I will scan and paste instructions---98% of the time if the set is wacked out and will not adjust one of the resistors is gone---ONE OF THE CHIPS GETS THEM.

This set uses two STK--392-110 ( you can also replace them with STK-392-150 which is a upgrade for the original type convergence chips)----You can buy both on Ebay for less than 13 dollars plus shipping.

Both chips need to be replaced and any damaged resistors around them located and replaced also--most of the time the set just needs both chips replaced and then adjusted.

If you cannot do this repair yourself--look in your area--most shops TRY to charge 300-400 for this kindof repair----I do lots of them here--did two Hitachi sets with this problem yesterday for 200-250 total.

MAKE SURE WHOEVER you get to do this changes BOTH CHIPS--SOME techs will come out and just replace one--in a short time the set will have the same kind of trouble again---Now is the slow time of year for TV repair shops---shop around for someone who will do this repair IN YOUR HOME--almost any good tech can do it in about 1 hour---if they say it "has to go to the shop" keep looking.

The chips are black(2 1/2 inches wide and about 1 1/2 inches tall with 18 pins) and will have the STK number printed on them in white--they are located on either one large metal heat sink with fins or two smaller heatsinks that are side by side.
