I have the same problem the pic went out but have sound. where do i go to get the Yboard? do i need a special number off of it or something? I took it to repair shop and he said it would be like 500 dollarss to repair. but i see all kind of yboards on ebay for like 150?? how do I know what one to buy?

Do you mean the lines appear after a while and disappear by themselves or decrease in width?

Well you most likely will need a technician or if you have technical ability........the Y sus board which operates the drivers of the plasma screen.........in some instances it will need both the y sus and the z sus boards.........the repair could range between $300 and $500 . be sure to go to an LG auth service. Sounds like the y sus was blown out but what cause it. Were you careful when you were checking voltages? As long as you didn't short 2 components together, your y sus should be fine. Unless the y buffer up and/or down blew them out. Even the panel could blow it.

Basically you need a scope to adjust the ramps and everything. You can adjust VA and VS with a meter. If you don't have access to a scope, then just start changing the ramps etc by eye. It might take a little bit to get but eventually you'll get it.

This will be your Y SUSTAIN board located on the left hand side when you take the back of your tv.
Make a note of the board number and try to find a replacement on Ebay.
Firstly check all fuses on the board and look for bulged / domed capacitors and replace where necessary.

Well there are 4 screws to get the stand off. Once you remove them it should pull straight off. If you have trouble, flip the TV upside-down so that the stand it up in the air. Do this on a carpeted floor. Then grab the stand and pull it up. It may be snug, but it should come right off. Best wishes, I hope this was helpful.

More than likely this will be down to your Y Sustain board has gone faulty, when the back is off your TV it is on the left hand side and will probbaly have a fuse that has blown, replacing the fuse will not solve the problem as it is the IMP under the heatsink that has gone faulty.
You should get the part number of the board and Google or Ebay for a replacement.

Replace your caps on the Power supply...will solve any voltage issues (causing your line)

LG part 6871QZH033A is what you most likely need.

There's a chance I might be wrong, of course.

But that would be my first guess.

There's a a guy having it REALLY cheap right now on eBay. I'd bit on it if I were you...starting price is like $10 and normal price is more like $70.

If it's not that then the second one is the YSUS board...he likely has that too.

Most like likely, this is a panel issue and it will be too cost to fix.

Other things you can try, reseating the ribbon cables on the buffer boards located running across either the top or bottom or both. If that doesn't do it, replace those boards and still no luck. Panel is bad.

The lines on the screen show that there is a poor connection with
the flatcable on the controller board.
Ok lay your flatscreen on a table or on your desk.

First remove the backfront cover.

Then you will see the input board frame you've to remove this first.
When you removed the input board you'll see the controller board

The connections you have to check is P105 and P106.
These are the flatcable for the leftside of the screen and
for the rightside of the screen.

Try to keep the input board up to 45¤ and leave the wires connected.

Now put the power on and see for your self when you push on
the flatcable you will see the lines disapear and the screen show
normal asual.

This indicate that the soldering points are bad to resolve this you can try to resolder the soldering points or you replace a new controller board this part you can find it here.

I can't tell you if the three flashes identify the problem better but it is with fair certainty a power supply failure. It may be the main power supply or a separate board that produces the high voltage required by the plasma display.
Typically, the parts cost will not be high but the labor may run it up.

Is this the main input fuse on the A.C. line? If that is the case then your regulator or rectifier section is shorted on your power supply board. i have the same fault loud pop and no picture but sound is ok
