The VTech CS6124 does not have a DND feature. The ringer volume could be set to Off. For the handset(s), press Menu (the big round button below the LCD screen) on a handset when the phone system is idle (no handsets in use). Use the arrow keys (CID/Vol- and Phone Book/Vol+) to navigate to Ringers and press Select (same as the Menu button) twice. Press the Vol+ to increase the volume. You will hear the current ringer volume. Repeat pressing Vol+ until you reach a volume that you prefer. Press Select to save the setting and then press Off to exit the menu system. To adjust the ringer volume at the base, press the Up/Down buttons when the phone system is idle. Add and register a handset Each newly purchased handset must be registered to the telephone base before use. When first purchased, each expansion handset shows NOT REGISTERED. You may need to charge the phone first. To register a handset:

·Place the unregistered handset in the telephone base or charger. Press Find for 4 seconds. If the headset screen doesn't light up after the 4 seconds. You will need to charge it some more. ·After making sure it is charged set the telephone on the main base again press and hold the Find button for 4 seconds ( until the red light IN USE comes on) Then release the find button. The headset will show PLEASE WAIT; this takes about 10 seconds to complete the registration. The hand set will show HEADSET REGISTERED and the headset number assigned, you will hear a beep when the registration is finished ·When the registration is complete, the newly registered handset is assigned the next available handset registration number. For instance, if you already have HANDSET 1 and HANDSET 2, the next registered handset is HANDSET 3. ·Makes sure no other headsets are in use at the time or the registration may fail. ·You cannot register a handset if any other system handset is in use. Only one handset can be registered at a time.

Vtech phones namely model cs6729-37.. the worst! You can't see who is calling and you cannot adjust screen brightness. Answer? Buy another phone! I got a panasonic -- same thing -- smaller profile -- 3 phones wireless back to the main base.. and they take AAA's not special batteries. The Vtech has given me hours of aggravation trying anything to get it brighter -- you can't. Don't waste your time and don't buy one -- Panasonic you can at least see who is calling. Why did V-Tech decide to make the LCD screen unreadable? I don't know and I don't care. What a waste of time and money. It's been miserable owning the V-Tech 3 phone system and I should have thrown it out sooner.

If you don't have the owner's manual, try searching the internet for a copy. If that doesn't work, search the internet for Vtech customer support.

I think you can change it go to menu settings go to language and it should have english and just change it to english.

Delete the recorded messages, by pressing the reset switch, or goubg through menus if yiu have a display.

Make sure that in settings...of each phone... the ring number are the same.

You would forward the calls thru your service provider. Not thru the phone set. It is usually something like *72 or *73. then enter the number. Your service provider can tell you the numbers.

1. In settings try to turn up the volume. 2. Using a Q tip and some alcohol make sure the mouth speaker is clear. 3. Check with Telco to make sure the telephone line itself is working properly.

Is the crackle sound on all phones or just the cordless?
