Looks like you've confimed that there's an issue with the scanner (which might be up to 17 years old) so it may be time to let go. It's impossible under Windows 7 . There is no more support from AGFA .

There is no direct solution since Agfa doesn't support your driver anymore after XP .
Install a virtual version of XP on your PC with FREE WmwarePlayer :
http://download.cnet.com/VMware-Player/3000-2094_4-10470784.html or via Microsoft if you are using Ultimate or Professional .
Otherwise , you 'll need to replace your device by a W7 compatible one .

Uninstall the scan software and install the snow leopard software not using the upgrade path. If the problem persist, install only the orignal scanner software.

About Agfa Snapscan E25:
Agfa discontinued its DTP scanner product line (SnapScan, DuoScan, Horizon and Arcus range) and digital cameras (ePhoto, ActionCam, StudioCam) at the end of 2001. At this page is the link for downloading the last valid drivers for your scanner, supporting up to winXP. Try, if you are lucky it may work with Win7
About Acer Aspire 3050:
This laptop has no drivers for Win7 (that's what acer says, not me). Here is the last driver for your camera supporting up to Vista.
In my opinion try the latest drivers that I send you, since there is nothing to loose.

Snow Leopard has a bunch of drivers built in to control various printers.  If it doesn't recognize the printer, then you will have to go on Agfa's web site to see if they have a printer driver compatible with Snow Leopard.  Keep in mind that Snow Leopard is a new OS and that printer manufacturers will take some time to update their programs and drivers to run on it.  If you don't find a driver then, you got to use a different printer or downgrade your OS to one that will run the printer.

Hi alls, this is my solution for Benq Scanner 5250C under Win Vista and Win 7 [both 64bits and Ultimate version]; [sorry for my English Im Spanish]
- Disable signature verification of drivers;
* Start Menu à Run and type this command; bcdedit /set nointegritychecks ON
- Restart the computer.
- Install this driver from Benq homepage; [scanner_sw_5250c_v6.3.zip]

Install it with Administrator privilege [right mouse button …] press yes when ask if you want install unsigned driver.
Run Mirascan driver, it say that not found any scanner, close this application, unplug the USB scanner and plug again the USB cord. Run again Mirascan … and calibration will start and all possibilities are ok.
Remember to enable the signature verification of drivers;
- Run; bcdedit /set nointegritychecks OFF
- Restart the PC.

that is right cause you need disk to get it to work and you dont have it,, so go to website and find the scanner number you are using and download the driver fo it

If this doesn't work then you might be out of luck, Unfortunately, AGFA decided to stop manufacturing and supporting scanners in 2001 so it is unlikely they will release a Vista specific driver

With the Computer.
Go to Start/programs/accessories/system Tools/Compatibility and attempt to reset the computer to the Windows mode the Scanner was made for.

Be aware however that Scanners made for use with Win 95/98/ME operate under DOS commands and 2000/XP/Vista work on the NTFS system so there is a hardware not software problem.
You will I feel wind up buying a Vista Compatible Scanner

Scanners tend to be made not to be dismantled,

So this is a problem you will have to figure your self or buy a new scanner

Did you apply the lock in the move? Take a look under the base- also check the manual. Failing that then one can only assume it has had a bump in the move. Depending on age you could try the makers- maybe a warranty hope there.
