I think that you mean you could not activate your Windows installation with Microsoft? They tag your hardware, since your hardware has changed it will not activate. you can search the web for the 'google toolbar' and try to install it but you may have to use Google Chrome browser(install it from web) to use the google toolbar. why need that toolbar? you can attach google apps/tools to IE favorites bar, right? you don't have to use google search unless it is attached to the g tool bar?

It sounds to me like a scam. The microsoft key... usually called the windows key + R will bring up a run window. That is harmless in itself and you can simply click cancel. But the caller would probably give you a command to enter in the window as the next step. Do not do that. The caller may be trying in install malware. Or the caller may try to give your system a useful tune-up and charge you a ridiculous price for that. Either way it's trouble.
