Computer refuses to boot up. Keeps asking me to insert the CD for the operating system.

the only way around that is to either borrow a cd from someone or simply get win 7 and upgrade.so place the cd in the cd drive and boot up, it should load the cd and start installing, i recommend a complete re-install not an upgrade (takes much much longer) but you will loose all your information with a re-install, so ask it to format the drive your installing it onto before you start the install. (you can upgrade if ya want to save software/files).i think the prob here is the boot.ini has become corrupt, this is why it's asking for your cd as it needs to install itself again.Let me know if your trying this or having probs with this, ill have a think to see what other options i can up with.in addtion have you got backup for the startup on a floppy??? if not when you re-install make one for future, this will stop all this messing about and should start the machine.ps i dont think this is a virus, but it could be a harddrive fualt or bad sector, so after install, goto command.exe and typr CHKDSK c: /fand then restart, this should fix any bad sectors on the HD.All the best

This may also help determine the cause of the configuration error. To perform a system restore, follow these steps:

1.Click Start, click Run, type msconfig, and then click OK.

2.On the General tab, click Launch System Restore.

3.Select Restore my computer to an earlier time, and then click Next.

4.Calendar dates in bold are possible restore points. Click the most recent one to view system restore information.

5.Select a system checkpoint or an installation restore point, and then click Next.

6.Close all other programs.

7.To start the system restore, click Next.

8.Your computer restarts. Repeat steps 1 through 8 until you fix your configuration issue.

MY PRODUCT KEY J464G-QTXWG-9RXD2-JQKYV-CDWXQ COA IS X11-45374 PLEASE VALIDATE MY CODES OR ADVISE

If you bought the copy of Windows from a shop and know it to be genuine then you need to contact Microsoft. If you bought the computer new with Windows already installed then you should go back to the shop and tell them. If you bought the computer used with Windows installed then you have no guarantee that it is genuine. I assume you got those numbers from the label on the computer, if you did and bought the computer used then it is probably the label for the original wersion of Windows, but someone could have installed a non genuine copy before you got it.

Driver for iphone4 code 28

Important: Device Manager error codes are exclusive to Device Manager. If you see the Code 28 error elsewhere in Windows, chances are it's a system error code which you should not troubleshoot as a Device Manager issue. Cause of the Code 28 Error A Code 28 error is caused by a missing driver for that particular piece of hardware. There are any number of reasons that a driver might not be installed for a device but your troubleshooting of the problem will be the same no matter the root cause. Error Code 28 Troubleshooting
  1. Restart your computer if you haven't done so already. There is always the slim chance that the Code 28 error you're seeing in Device Manager was caused by a fluke with Device Manager or in your BIOS. If that's the case, a reboot might fix the Code 28.
  2. Did you install a device or make a change in Device Manager just before you noticed the Code 28? If so, it's very possible that the change you made caused the Code 28 error. Undo the change, restart your PC, and then check again for the Code 28 error. Depending on the changes you made, some solutions might include:
  3. Update the drivers for the device. Installing the latest manufacturer supplied drivers for a device with the Code 28 error is the most likely solution to the problem. Important: Make sure you install the drivers for the correct operating system. For example, if you're using Windows 7 32-bit, install the drivers designed for that specific version of Windows. Many Code 28 errors are caused by attempting to install the wrong drivers for a device.
  4. Install the latest Windows service pack. Microsoft regularly releases service packs and other patches for their operating systems, one of which may contain a fix for the cause of the Code 28 error. Note: I do know that certain service packs for Windows Vista and Windows 2000 have contained specific fixes for some instances of the Code 28 error in Device Manager.
  5. Replace the hardware. As a last resort, you may need to replace the hardware that has the Code 28 error. It's also possible that the device is not compatible with this version of Windows. You can check the Windows HCL to be sure. Note: If you still think there is still a software/operating system component to this Code 28 error, you could try a repair install of Windows. If that doesn't work, try a clean install of Windows. I don't recommend doing either of those more drastic options before you try replacing the hardware, but you may have to if you're out of other options.
Please let me know if you've fixed a Code 28 error using a method that I don't have above. I'd like to keep this page as updated as possible.

I have windows xp professional 2002, service pack 2 and the sound and sound icon disappeared

Sounds like either the hardware has become disabled or you lost your audio driver. To check this Right click the "My Computer" icon and select "Manage" A Computer Management window will come on the left hand side select device manager. This pulls up a list of every piece of hardware in your computer. If anything has a yellow " ! " next to it then the computer sees the hardware but can not run it due to an incorrect or missing driver. If there is a red " X " next to it then it has been disabled. To re-enable a component right click the icon and select enable. Finding the correct driver may be difficult, if you bought the computer from a store try going to the manufactures website. Go to Drivers/Support, usually you can type in the Model or Serial number of your computer and pull up every driver you may need.

Lost a Word font on my Mac and I can't get it back.

If you have already tried the common troubleshooting steps with no success, here are a few additional suggestions:
  1. Clear font caches: Font caches can sometimes cause issues with font recognition. To clear them, follow these steps:
  • Close all applications, including Word.
  • In Finder, press Command+Shift+G, then enter "~/Library/Caches" and click Go.
  • Locate the "com.apple.ATS" folder and move it to the trash.
  • Restart your Mac and check if the font now appears in Word.
  1. Check if the font is disabled in Font Book: Sometimes, a font may be disabled in Font Book, which can cause it to not appear in certain applications. To check and enable the font if needed:
  • Open Font Book (you can search for it using Spotlight).
  • Locate the font in question and ensure it is enabled (unchecked fonts won't appear in applications).
  • If it is disabled, check the box next to it to enable it.
  1. Repair disk permissions: Although less likely to resolve font issues, repairing disk permissions might help in some cases. Here's how to do it:
  • Open Disk Utility (you can search for it using Spotlight).
  • Select your main disk (usually named Macintosh HD) from the list on the left.
  • Click on the First Aid tab, then click the "Repair Disk Permissions" button.
  • Wait for the process to complete, then restart your Mac and check if the font is now visible in Word.
  1. Create a new user account: In some instances, font-related problems can be specific to a user account. Creating a new user account and testing the font in Word under that account can help identify whether the issue is related to your current account.
If none of the above solutions work, you might need to seek further assistance from Microsoft support or Apple support, as the problem could be related to a software conflict or compatibility issue.
