How do you remove the screen

Televisions covered: typical Projection Televisions.Projection TV's usually have a bezel surrounding the screen that is held on by a (firm) friction-fit to a rubber gasket.Once the bezel is (carefully) removed, the screen itself is released. How to remove the bezel: carefully pull it away from the cabinet of the TV (toward the front), by hand - its somewhat/slightly flexible. If a tool is used, one risks damaging the cabinet finish, or the bezel itself. If I need to extract a screen, I'll usually release the upper 1/2 of the bezel from around the screen (removing the top and half of each side), then lift the screen panel itself up and out of the TV without removing the entire bezel - this way, I save the (unnecessary) work of removing the entire bezel, and also avoid the possibility of the screen panel falling out of the cabinet onto the floor in front of the set (as the last part of the bezel comes off the cabinet). Its often tough to get this bezel off the first time, so when I take one off, I'll install a light coating of grease on the rubber gasket, since once it comes off the first time, it will inevitably need to come off again a few more times before the TV is fixed. And if the bezel is flexed too violently, it will break.Cheap automotive bearing grease works fine.

Main setup menu froze on screen unable to

If the model number posted here is correct (vs-70707) this is a VZ8 Chassis made around 2000 and should NOT have a reset button on the front. Please confirm actual model number.Note: almost all Mitsubishi sets have a hidden menu (two or more) and one allows with the Mitsubishi remote to enter for example the OPTION menu and there you will be able to do a HARD RESET on the set which sets ALL settings back to default.sj

The kids left the tv on all night and turned off

I don't know of a parts outlet but searching will find this part. I am betting that you blew out the video card itself. This usually happens with a lightning strike or a power surge and a power surge strip you buy from a home center is not what it advertises and will not work. It will be obvious if you pull the back off of the TV and look at the input cards, one of them should be fried. If you find the fried one you can pull it, take off the part number and start looking for a replacement. These cards can be fixed but it will take someone that knows what they are doing and a ton of patients.

The kids left the tv

The number one item for that model is to check the Circuit boards for signs of CRT coolant dripping on the boards which appears as a clear sticky residule. Very common proble with that chassis. You should be able to get parts from www.tvrepairworld.com they can get the hard to find parts.

CABLETV MALE CONNECTOR IS LOOSE

set should have 2 cable connecters; IF IT DOES NOT CONNECT VIA CABLE BOX/SAT BOX ETC TO ONE OF THE SETS OF AUDIO/VIDEO JACKS ON BACK OF SET AND USE IT THAT WAY----the AV jacks bypass the cable fitting.

Tuner could be removed and coax fitting replaced but just go around the problem.

If you do not understand, comment here and I will explain.
