I had the carpet replaced in my home and the tv

Thats caused by weak DM capacitors. They discharge when the set is unplugged even briefly then they cant recharge after getting power restored. You can get the Mitsubishi DM repair kit for your model at www.tvrepairworld.com which contains the caps and the CD with repair instructions.

Green lite blinks continous and tv will not turn

Hi. I have checked with service manual for your tv, and in it, it states that if your tv presents with this problem that you are supposed to take it to mitsubishi for service.

Only 1 problem, they no longer manufacture this model, and therefore do not provide service for it anymore.

Now, as for what is wrong with it, I would check your convergence ic chip, as this is a likely culprit.

Also, the DM board has several capacitors on it that tend to go out as well.

They will look like exploded batteries if they are bad...oozing of capacitance gel, split sides, stained or burnt circuit boards around them.
These most certainly can give you this kjnd of power faault, as the are required for the screen to energize.
If the capacitors can't hold a charge, then they can't start the screen.

Also, check all solder points, as some, even without being disturbed, can become cracked, causing a shorting effect and also not allowing the capacitors to charge up.

You may find that some resistors are burnt up as well, that also could cause this type of power fault.

There are also pico fuses, around 5 or 6 of them, depending on which year the tv was made in, and they can go out as well.
If one of those burned out, it means ther is an overvolatage issue somewhere upstream powerwise from it.

I know I have listed several things, I'm just trying to make sure I tell you all the things that could cause the fault

When you go to check these parts, ALWAYS make sure the power cord is unplugged! I would hate for you to go looking in the back of the cabinet, and get lit up like a Christmas tree, all because the unit was still plugged in.

I hope this has been helpful to you.

Mi mitsubishi 55859 has flashing

Bad digital/power module. Difficult repair. Have an authorized shop pull module and ship to Mitsubishi for rebuild. Many many caps are bad inside, and probably bad digital board. Factory service is recommended.

WS 55909 power outage has

ONLY 1 of 2 things can cause this problem----

First thing to do is remove front speaker grill--it should pull out and is secured with plastic pegs--behind it you will find an inspection plate---

Notice the one or two pairs of wires coming from the front keyboard of the set---remove the inspection plate and follow the wires to the right--you can unplug both plugs(most have two and they are marked with letters and different sizes so you cannot get them wrong)

The idea here is to remove the front keyboard with its reset button etc from the circuit---You will still be able to try to turn the set on with the remote---

These sets have a Receiver that is called a DM board--(large metal box to the left as you look from the back) and if the power goes out the green light will blink for about 70 seconds and then go out---it is the Receiver booting up. It is called the DM board.

If disconnecting the keyboard allows the set to turn on--you have a bad reset switch and two choices---either operate the set only with the remote or to remove the front screen and get at the reset switch (it is tiny) and remove and/or replace it.

If disconnecting the keyboard does not restore the set to operation---the receiver is bad---there are 4 or more caps and some pico fuses that can fail in that unit---Mitsubishi no longer sells or repairs these--if it is bad and not the caps there is a company you can send the unit to and have it repaired--if you need to know their name let me know---

You can call them and get a quote for repairing the receiver.

Let me know what more information you need--I am here to help.

If this told you something you did not know rate this solution as very helpful as I do this here for free.

Unplug tv for 1 week for vacation plug tv in

Thats a common problem caused by failed capacitors on the DM board. Usually after unplugging the set the capacitors drain down then when you plug it back in the Caps wont charge and you will get the constant blinking light. You can get the DM repair kit for your model at www.tvrepairworld.com under the mitsubishi repair kit catagory. The kit contains the Capacitors and the CD with instructions for the repair.

The timer light keeps blinking. Tried unplugging

Thats not a 'timer' light, that is what we call the blinking light of death. you have something internally blown or loose. If you are good with electronics, i would recomend that you check every cable is tight, then every card, the cards are in the tin boxes and you open them up by removing the top and pulling the card up and out then push it all the way back in. if you see any 'char' marks on any of the boards, you can order those boards, the part number are printed on them.

Picture was fine, then lines diagonally, now light

Projection sets have two very common problems outlined below.

The first common problem is convergence

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. The TV can also shut down when the convergence starts to fail.

Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.

Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony, Samsung,JVC,Philip Magnavox,Panasonic,Akai,Pioneer, Hitachi,Mitsubishi,Zenith, RCA and others.

You can more info and a DIY convergenece repair kit with instructions from TV Repair Kits using the link at the end of this article.

Here are some of the most common problems with these sets...

*Screen Looks 3-D
*Colors wont align
*Screen may look distorted or warped or bowed
*No Audio/Video - TV Shuts down - May also make a constant chirping sound

Problem #2 - Another common problem is dull or washed out video.

Your set may have one or more of the following symptoms....

*Dull looking picture
*White looking picture
*Halos around objects
*Red/Orange looking picture
