I have a Sportline TraQ

Some Pedometers turn off automaticaly once they stop moving after a while. Others just require you to press and hold a button for a while. Leave it alone (eithout movement) for 5min, if it dosn't turn off try holding a button for 30sec.

What is the formula to figure out the pace

(I got this from http://www.livestrong.com/article/93695-set-up-omron-pedometer/)Step 1

Pace out an area that's long enough for you to take 10 normal steps, in your natural stride, without having to turn to one side or the other. Place a piece of tape at one end of this distance, then stand with your toes flush with the edge of the tape. Step 2

Carry another piece of tape with you as you walk straight ahead, taking 10 steps (5 with your left foot, 5 with the right). Stop at the end of the tenth step and place the tape flush with the toes of your leading foot. Step 3

Measure the distance from one piece of tape to the other, in inches, with a measuring tape. Divide this distance by 10 to get your average stride length. If, for example, you walked 290 inches in 10 strides, your average stride length will be 290 / 10 = 29 inches. Hello,
Do you mean the screen is blank or you cannot remember how to program it? Was it working perfect until you replaced the Battery?
Make sure the battery is inserted with the positivet side up?
Manual is here: http://www.sportline.com/manuals/370.pdf
Replacing the battery: 1. Unscrew the battery compartment cover on the backside of the unit using a small Phillips screwdriver and remove the cover. 2. Remove the exhausted battery from the unit, and insert a new battery (be sure to place the positive (+) side of the battery is visible, facing toward the battery compartment cover). 3. Replace the battery compartment cover on the battery compartment and fasten the screw (CAUTION: do not over tighten).
