Wheel goes halfway then gets stuck

If it's a mechanical machine, it could be seizing due to old, dried out oil. How long since it has had a thorough clean and oil? If this is the cause, AVOID running the machine until the problem is addressed or the motor can be damaged.

My Bernina Bernette 65 has a problem with the

try a new needle--one that is for the fabric being sewedthen try to adjust the top thread tension again, if the stitches remain loose and the tension won't adjust then the tension knob needs to be checked to see if there is something wrong with it.also check to make sure the bobbin is inserted correctly into the bobbin case, if the bobbin is not turned the right way in the bobbin case the sewing machine will not stitch correctly.

When I press on the pedal the machine just makes a 'vruuuuuu' sound, and when it sews it tangles around the bobbin! It also does not pick up the bobbin thread

1. The bobbin may be in backwards. 2. The bobbin thread & top thread need to be pulled to the back before starting the stitching 3. You need a ballpoint rather than universal needle to sew on t-shirt knits. 4. the needle is in the machine backwards 5. Make sure the needle is the correct one for the fabric being sewed 6. Needle inserted wrong in the needle holder 7. Damaged needle 8. Warped bobbin 9.First make sure the bobbin-winding spindle (located on top of your machine) has been pushed back to the left for sewing. 10.If it is not in the correct position, the needle will not go down and pick-up your bobbin thread. 11.Next make sure your needle is inserted correctly, with the flat side facing back. 12.Also, make sure your bobbin is in correctly 13.the upper tension disks of your machine are threaded correctly. 14.Make sure the presser foot is up when seating the thread through the upper tension. 15.Turn the handwheel towards you only and hold the needle thread lightly. 16.could be a timing problem 1611

When I press the pedal the string get tangled and I also have problems with the bobbin thread not being picked up! Please help! Thanks margaret

thread the machine correctly( follow the operators manual) wind the bobbin properly and when placing the bobbin in the bobbin carrier pull the thread down the small slot and under the spring plate thread for the needle always comes in from the left (The side of the groove in the needle ) and out the cut away side pull a long piece of thread for the needle out and hold it while you turn the machine over after 1 or 2 revolutions the needle thread will bring up the bobbin thread and you then pull both threads out a bit if you don't have a user/operators manual there are 2 options one is to go google and type in --user manual for bernina bernette model 65 sewing machine and down load the pdf version the other option is to visit manchester shops ( cloth and fabric shops ) and talk with the sales people as may of these places have a sewing circle of people who will be only to willing to help you.

Is the bobbin winding mechanism activated? That will usually prevent the handwheel from turning and moving the needle. Otherwise, it could be broken...

I am not able to reverse the machine manually to pick up bobbin thread. Can not turn wheel backwards. It appears to be hitting something good or is jammed.

Do NOT try to turn the handwheel backwards. This will frequently cause the machine to malfunction requiring professional service to repair. Consult your owner's manual in the Troubleshooting Section for solutions to your problem. Check to make sure the bobbin winder is still not activated.

How do I turn off THE BOBBIN winder on a Bernette 65 sewing machine?

The bobbin spindle needs to be moved to the left in the slot to disengage the winding mechanism. (It may be easier to do this with the bobbin on the spindle. The bobbin and spindle should be moved to the right after putting the bobbin on for winding.) The directions and pictures for winding the bobbin are on page 30-31 of the manual. The manual is available from Bernina on their support page for the out-of-print Bernette machine manuals: .http://www.bernina.com/en-US/Support-US/Out-of-Print-Manuals/bernette-manuals/Bernette-Sewing-Machines . The direct link to the Bernette 65 manual is here: http://www.bernina.com/getdoc/6d2754b8-af09-4edb-a6a6-7a4c57965b8d/bernette-55-65-80e-90e . I hope this helps. Cindy Wells

How to insert bobbin in a bernette 680 sewing machine?

Try going to this link and download the manual for either the Bernette 410 or 715 and look at the directions for threading and inserting the bobbin: http://www.bernina.com/en-US/Support-US/Out-of-Print-Manuals/bernette-manuals/Bernette-Sewing-Machines Bernina may not have a manual for your particular model, but these models may be close enough that you can still use the directions for your machine.

How to take of covers for maintenace, oiling

I do NOT recommend you take it apart. If you break a "key" it won't go back together. In addition to that, the Berninas tend to have many inner screws that are hard to see. It's difficult to tell if you have a stubborn key, or an inner screw is still tight. It's a great machine, and worth taking it to a professional with the knowledge and correct disassembly sequence. They aren't like old machines that need oiled and greased every month.
