Press and hold the SET button to enter the change mode. The unit announces the current time and day. Press SET repeatedly until the unit announces the rings to answer. Press and release NEXT or PREVIOUS until the unit announces the correct number of rings for the answerer to pick up. Hello there, to add a time and day stamp on your messages on your answering machine first you have to set the date and time on the unit. Once the date and time has been set the voice time day stamp should automatically be a part of each message which is left on the machine. to get directions on how to set the time and date follow the instructions on page 9 in the manual below.

I had the F problem, I have the 29868 Digital Messaging System ( GE) In desperation today I unplugged it and unhooked the battery. When I plugged it back in the F was gone, when I hooked the battery back up the F stayed gone. Go figure !!!

Hit the 'set' button on the answering machine, it will tell you what the security code is.

Hit the SET button. Then hit either NEXT or PREVIOUS until you hear English again.

push "GREETING" button and hold. It beep and you can record your new message while you hold it down. When complete release button. To play back just push button and release.
