You will need to get the disk to install on your system, otherwise, you can not play/create any sound file as said, i will advice you get a copy from any of your friend that uses it and install on your mac Book pro, you can also check there web site to see if you can download a copy, with that, i believe the problem should fix.

Have you try to reinstall the software, many times thoose software are much complicated and comes with strange errors. Try to : uninstall the software, reboot the computer, and reinstall the software and try again.
