Dell 2208wfpt settings for portrait rotation?

Andrew Scharlach, Are you changing the rotation using the ctrl+alt+right arrow. left arrow or down arrow? That is how i change the rotation on the screen. If needed lower the resolution in the display settings in control panel. Thank You, Dell-Jesse L Dell Social Media and Communities

Dell 2208WFPt no power - nothing.

Check the cord at the wall and the back of the monitor. If you can use a known-good cord, and still nothing, then your best bet is replacing the monitor completely.

2208wfpt

The problem is caused by one or more capacitors that have opened in the power supply/inverter board, sometimes they show a bulge at the top making it easier to spot.

2208wfpt flickering, not staying on

The problem is in the power supply/inverter board, there are more than likely one or more bad capacitors that open, "sometimes bulges at top" the other concern is one of the inverter transformers may be bad, or a failing backlight behind the display.

I have a Dell 2208WFP Monitor. When it poweres up

The problem can be the lamp assemblies also, it will be hard to verify unless you have test lamps to find out if it is the lamps or the inverter problem, that is one of the first thing I check first if the board has no sign of damage. I save a lot of lamp assemblies for testing purpose.

Dell 2208WFP won't power up. No LED's, no

You need to open it up and inspect the main fuse (red round part by the AC inlet), DC filter caps (look for bad caps with leaking or bulging tops).
Board: http://www.lcdrepair.us/E2208WFPt-inverter-power.html

Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

If you add a DVI adapter to the the DVI cable

For the best results, you a straight DVI cable.

VGA is analog, while DVI is digital. The quality will not be as good a a regular DVI cable.

You can use a DVI to HDMI.

I use one going from my PC to TV and the quality is awesome.

Will any USB device (keyboard, mouse, memory-stick) work when connected to your Dell monitor?
Will those USB devices (including your external disk-drive) work when _directly_ connected to your computer?

Try it with another PC to make sure it is not the PC problem.
Otherwise, look inside for bad caps first.

The replacement board is about $50 (there are three versions), you can try troubleshooting down to components level or replace the board, hopefully is is not bad lamp assemblies (you need to have Inverter test lamp to verify if it is the lamps problem or inverter problem).

DELL 2208WFP LCD-Comes on normally, but almost

Hello,

I believe the power led button is still on while the screen goes dark, if yes, it means the picture board of your monitor is bad that is why it appears for a second and goes dark after that

Since the power led button is on, It means the picture board on your monitor is faulty that is why it appears for a second and goes dark.

The best thing for you to do now is to take the monitor to a local repairer or any service center within your vicinity to help with the replacement of the picture board because the fault is not something you can fix yourself in other to complicate issues.

Take care.
