You would have to remove the whole light engine, ( tvs project) Guts from rear of set...

If the color wheel is bad and set is hooked up correctly the tv will have will display missing colors as the color wheel is what gives the displayed picture its proper colors

What makes you think the color wheel is bad!?... It would require removing the light engine from the rear!.... Geo

Is that DLP? Lamp going bad, could be.

Check Lamp Fan or Fans and it could be that the Lamp is going out.

try to play a DVD movies etc to see if the problem is on TV or the signal reception..

yes a broken color wheel can prevent a set from powering up but a broken lamp could also shatter and have pieces near the color wheel.

OPPS!You may have damaged the lamp or the ballast that drives the lamp.Confirm the model and brand to me:All sets that use a lamp warn you to if you turn set off NOT to unplug it for several minutes until the fans in set all shut off.What can and does happen is when set turned off the fans continue (especially the one on the lamp) to run until the lamp cools down to a specific temperature---unplug it before that and the lamp can instantly be damaged or even destroyed.

This solution is for the zenith 56" DLP. Unplug the tv, either from the wall socket or the TV. While the TV is unplugged hold the power button on the TV for 40 seconds. This lets the excessive power drain from the TV. If this does not work call 1-800-243-0000. This is the number for their help line. This is the fix the tech gave me and it worked right away. If the buzzing noise sounds like a fork in the microwave, it's time for a new lamp. If it sounds like a squealing noise, it's either a fan or the color wheel. Color wheels are not easy to replace, so I recommend hiring a Service Tech.

The most likely problem is your lamp has failed. you need to replace the lamp This unit has 2 different LAMPS used, one is SQUARE and the other is ROUND.
