Honeywell Heat/Cool Thermostat - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Honeywell thermostat blows cold air on heat
Thermostats don't actually blow anything, the heating system might though. Check the breakers for your heat system, then call a heating specialist. They're really not that expensive.

How do you change battery on honeywell thermostat
first of all it is not a battery according to a HW tech., it is a capacitor that charges or stays charged by the current coming from the transformer on the boiler or furnace or on an a/c,etc...I know. it's an energizer # 2025 or sumptin' like that. That's if we're talking about a T87N or T87K, otherwise just pop open the lid and replace yer' batteries!

I would like to know how to connect my central air
Hi,You have a problem.... two red wires....The white goes on the "W" terminalThe green goes on the "G" terminalNow... the red wires...One goes to the outdoor A/C unit and the other is the power coming from the transformer on the air handler or furnace...So, you need to figure out which wire has the 24v coming through it and hook that to the "R" terminal...Then hook the other wire... the one that goes to the Y in the furnace to the "Y" terminal on the t-stat...this will continue on to the outdoor unit....Becareful... if you hook the red wires up backwards you could blow the transformer or at least the fuse on the board if it has one...heatman101

I have a honeywell t42a1x2.
Hi,
Tell me if I'm wrong... but you only have two wires going to this old t-stat....so... it really doesn't matter which wire goes where....place one on the "R" terminal and one on the "W" of the new thermostat...

Honeywell CT87N doesn't turn on the AC
Hi,
Looks like you should have the wires hooked correctly....
When the t-stat calls for cooling you should have 24v ac on the Y terminal... this should feed through to the outdoor condenser and turn on the compressor....
It is possible that you have a bad t-stat... and I also assume that you have turned the t-stat to the cool setting.
You also should check the air handler wiring to make sure that the wiring is the same there...you should have matching terminals and the same wire colors should be matched up there...

I would like to know how to wire honeywell dt90e
It helps to know which wires went to the terminals on the old thermostat, if it had one. Otherwise, you would really need to know how they are hooked up inside the furnace/air handler. Some technicians hook them up differently, but I can give you the basics and most commonly used wires.
R terminal- red/power wire
G terminal- green/ fan wire
Y terminal- yellow/ cooling or condenser wire
W terminal- white/ heating wire
C terminal- blue/black/ common or ground wire
If you have a rc/rh terminal, they are usually jumpered with a small wire and your power wire still hooks to that. Hope this helps and good luck!

I was moving my honeywell digital thermostat and
You have either blown the fuse on the circuit board on the furnace, which will be a 3 or 4 amp fuse, or you have shorted the transformer inside the furnace which will be a small square component with a round coil that will have 4 or more wires. If you follow the 120v in the furnace, it will be there. You can pick these up at local supply stores and some home improvement stores. It should be 120/24 volts. In some cases it blows both fuse and transformer, but I would start with the fuse if you have a control board on the furnace. Everything will be located inside the electrical panel on the unit. If I knew what unit you had, I could be more specific. Hope this helps and good luck!
