Anonymous Posted on Mar 28, 2011

I have a 2001 kawasaki zx9 and I want to if when the bike is running if both sides of the tail light should light up with the running light and then when the brake is pushed if one side should go out and the other side should get bright. I am under the impression this is the way these bike are from the factory but im having trouble passing inspection because of that. Thanks jeff

I think you have an earth return fault as the light should not go brighter one side and dimmer the other.
I would check the wiring.

How do I raise the seat up on a 2001 kawasaki zx9 ?

If it's like my 2003 ZX9, to take the riders seat off you open the rear compartment by removing the passenger seat, the front bracket that hold the the seat has two 8mm bolts and a screw. Unscrew the screw and remove the bolts and slide or remove the bracket and then the riders seat lifts up.

How to hook a turnsignal up to the brake light on a 01 zx9

You cannot just wire up a turn signal to operate on the tail/brake lights without using a device called an integrator. Otherwise it is not possible to separate the functions.
If you look on EBay or seach the internet under 'turn signal integrator' you should be able to find these devices.
The kit should ocme with specific wiring intructions.

Indicator failure

You're looking for part number 27002A. In this picture it is found very close to the horn. That does not mean is is close to the horn on your bike, but I would check there first if it is easy to get to. Usually there is an electrical box. The fuse box may contain the relay. Your dealer should be able to tell you exactly where it is, as would any shop manual for your bike.
