U should be having a flashing engine check lite on the speedo......count the flashes, that'll tell ya what's wrong. You'll need to look up the flash codes on a trouble code site,or call yer local HD dlr.

SOURCE: fuel pump?

the fuel pump for your 2000 fuel injected road king is located in the fuel tank. you will have to remove the speedometer housing, by first removing the seat, then remove the one small screw near the seat that holds the speedometer housing in place, also remove the small screw at the front of the speedometer housing and lift the housing off the tank and disconnect the wiring that goes to the back of the speedometer. there is a large oval shaped gold in appearance plate on top of the fuel tank. this plate is what the fuel pump is mounted to.

SOURCE: can't find fuel pump

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Offhand, on most fuel injected models, the fuel pump and filter is commonly inside the fuel tank.

Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy Holidays.

SOURCE: Harley Road King motor turned off

after checking the kill switch on the handle bars and the key. It could be a simple wire or even a computter problem check to see if you have spark if it even turns over, without knowing if it fuel injected or carb its hard to give an exact find or fix. If your not formiluar with the road kings working I would suggest you take it to a harley mech.

SOURCE: oil change procedure 2000 road king

the oil tank is on the bottom of the transmission in your RK. There are two drain plugs. The plug towards the front left of the pan is the oil drain plug. The other one is for the transmission.

Drain the oil, replace the filter, refill with three quarts of oil and you're ready to go. The dipstick has two marks on it. The upper mark is "FULL HOT", and the lower mark is "FULL COLD". Do not overfill.

Don't forget to service the transmission and the primary at their recommended intervals.

Good Luck
steve

2000 Harley-Davidson FLHR/FLHRI Road King. It ran great no problem but leaking fuel line. I replaced with new fuel line but now won't start?

Question edited for a lot more clarity, plus typos.
Question moved from 'Gas Motorcycles' to model category.

You need to track the buzzing, but these come in either carburetor or Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection (ESPFI) My guess is that yours is fuel injected and the buzzing is the fuel pump relay.

This isn't much to go on. Does it turn over? Is the key in the on position? Do you have gas? Did it start yesterday? Have you ever started it before?

1996 road king FLHRI clutch cable grounds out, gets very hot, bike wont start unless cable is detached from handlebars. ???????

YOU HAVE A BRAIDED CLUTCH LINE? PROBABLY A WIRE IN THE HANDEL BARS OR HAND CONTROLS IS SHORTING OUT INSIDE THE HANDLE BARS.AND I WOULD CHECK ALL THE GROUND CABLES AND WIRES.

Harley davidson road king 2000 flhr new battery fitted, new spark plugs. bike will crank over but will not start

Don't ding me on this response, (it's happened to me) is the run switch turned off, it's the first switch on the right handlebar.
I'm assuming it was running prior to doing your maintenance.
